Don't ask how it happened - one of those silly moments! But my OH managed to shut the car door window on my little finger! It took me a moment to work out why my finger was hurting - so I shouted at him. Apparently it was my fault as my hand should not have been there. I blame him 'cos he's completely worn out and his chronic sinusitis is giving him hell and he wasn't concentrating on the bigger picture in his life (me!).

Anyway, the little finger on my right hand hurts like mad. The tip is painful when it touches anything and on the underside - bang in the middle between the knuckles I have an ominous red mark.

Boo hoo.

p.s. On looking at my fingers - length-wise - my little fingers are REALLY short compared to the others, which I'd not really noticed before (hey I'm only in my 50s and life's busy ...). My son reckons that little fingers will vanish before too long as they are probably unnecessary ... In a few billion years mankind may only have the three fingers.

LOL Sue - if it was really serious I wouldn't be here telling you all - I'd be out there sorting it out!!

Oh you poor poor girl. It must hurt like hell and I for one have total sympathy for you. Take care of yourself and don't forget to let us know how you are. Is that enough sympathy?

Bit late Marion. This happened at about 5.30pm. It's now 11.30pm and beginning to hurt even when it doesn't touch anything!

I think the pain is numbing the thought processes - either that or those two glasses of wine!

Dont take the ibrufen with the wine, it will definitely numb the finger and your head aswell!!

Jill I've been thinking of you all day - in spite of going out for a lovely day in the mountains and having a great lunch in a little cafe. We also went to a really good gardening centre and bought some new pots. But through all that I couldn't stop wondering whether you managed to sleep with your poor damaged finger. Do I sound like I'm taking the wee? LOL
