Finally it has happened, after nearly two years of staring at a huge brick wall on my paternal grandfathers side, i have today had a major breakthrough, though if anyone can decipher the occupation of Arthur Lawrance in the 1861 census i would be a very happy bunny, his details are Arthur Lawrance born 1845 in Raydon Suffolk, his wife was Mary Ann born 1846(?) in Langham Essex, they had a son Alfred who was born about 1859 in East Bergholt Essex on the 1861 census they were living at 374 Caledonian(?) Road Islington. It looks to me something like Royal leather ( ? ) cutter.

The really spooky thing is i have very recently moved into the village next to the one he was born in , and i live in the same road he did when he was a child.
Many thanks for any help or advice Izzyx

Thanks for that Choccy, you know how to let me down gently don't you, i think you are probably right but wouldn't it be lovely if he did have a job connected with royalty, though knowing my luck they would probably only be chief pooper scooper!!!, suppose i must carry on hunting for my royal connection.!!
