The first cat we had when I was small was called Korky (after the cat in the 'Dandy')
Another cat was called Pierre - cos he was white with a black tail and black 'beret' shape on his head.
Guinea pigs called Napalm (fur was like an explosion) and Pickle (colouring was like Branston)
Rats called something fancy but know as B*ll*cks and Willie!
My daughter had a rabbit caled Curtis (after Curtis Mayfield)
Grand daughter has a rabbit called Jesus - she got him at Easter!

An old beau of mine had a female half-Siamese with some dorky new-agey name like Karma or Mushu that I gave up on remembering.

I always just called it Wilt. One day I remarked that he probably had no idea why I called it Wilt. He said he'd never wanted to ask.

Because it was ridiculously short and had white socks on every foot.

Wilt Chamberlain ... Harlem Globetrotters ... 7 feet tall ... hahahaha.

Two of my own recent cats were/are Carl and Bouchée, whom I tend to call Bunboy and Ratgirl. I never thought about it until one day I heard No.1 calling Carl "Bunboy". How sweet, I thought.

Tortoise - Jubilee. We got him in 1977

Rabbits - Mini (a netherland dwarf), Bubble and Squeak, Sandy (sandy coloured), Helmet (my 10 year old brother had discovered the word and didn't mean head attire)

Budgies - Busby (he was yellow), Rocky (grey coloured), Horatio (named after a boyfriend called Nelson)

Cats - Gemma (born under Gemini star sign), Tubbs and Crocket ( I stood at the door calling Tubbs not before realising there was a large man sitting on a bench nearby), Hamlet (we wanted a classy name),

Dog - Scruffy (because he was)

Had a rabbit called Casserole, cause if the kids did not feed him that was where I told them he would end up.

Kids fed him very well and never did get the stew.

Fred - the cat who adopted us, the biggest Gray tabby I have ever seen, don’t know what happened to him, just disappeared one day

Bluey - a budgie that was green, don’t know why

G C - the cat named after my son Gary, Gary’s Cat. Lived till 20 years old

We always seemed to have a goldfish called 'Goldie' when i was young lol
When I married we had a budgie called 'Budgie' as we couldn't agree on a name for him.
We had a dog for 16 and a half years called 'George' after the pink hippo from Rainbow.
A cocker spaniel who sadly got run over called charlie.
6 cats...Fluffyx 2...Henry who turned out to be a girl...Kitty who was learning disabled...Jessie who was well hard and chased dogs...Sooty, well he was all black...but he allotment holders and some of our neighbours don't like cats and they all went missing...my daughter turned all the taps on, in the allotments and flooded the allotments cos she wanted to pay them back for killing our cats. I only learned of this a couple of years ago when she told me. So we don't have cats anymore and i do miss not having a cat.
Charlie got out of the garden when some pillock unknown to us was walking past our garden and opened the gate. We now only have a handle on the inside of the gate and a padlock.'
We used to get teased by our friends about the dogs names...Charlie George' ( Arsenal player ) but what they didn't know was we wanted to call Charlie 'Zippy' but Oh wouldn't hear of it. Well we already had 'George '
We also had a disabled budgie called 'topsy turvy ' cos his little legs were deformed and he kept falling off his perch.
He died one night puffing and panting for breath and me trying to blow vick vapours tohim didn't work. Bless him. I think now there was maybe more wrong with him than his little legs being disabled...Do they see me comming when i enter a pet shop. : ((

Cassie, my daughter named her....

Sooty ..... he was black

Snowy ......he was white

.....just to show that I have no imagination.....

Horses..... Candy , Murphy (Murphys Law) and Louis (Bosworth Louis II) .... they were all named by previous owners and I believe it unlucky to change a horses name....
