SueM, you should have a few words with "Fergie" the Duchess of York,I believe she had that same problem a few years ago,She Solved it by getting some one to "Suck Her Toes" It must have cured it because the "Media" never report it now.**M**.:o)>.

I honestly think that the best thing to do would be to chop them off.

Calcium sandoz tablets are very effective.
BUT before you take them check interaction with any other meds

Yes! I just remembered the name - Quinine Sulphate - came in to write this and saw Dee's post.

I always thought that when you get cramp you need a cold surface to put you foot on, yes well once when you're young, now, I'm 55, if my feet are just a little cold at night I get cramp. I have a permanent prescription for quinnine tablets. they do help, but I still get the odd cramp that gets past the tabs. if you really are suffering, wear bed socks, they really do help.

Salt - Hmm, high BP and cramps, seems like I struck it unlucky! I do eat very little salt normally, though, everything cooked from scratch no salt, so I'll try and keep track. Do I get cramps after eating a bag of Miss Vicky's potato chips with cream cheese and dill pickle dip? Enough salt in there to keep a horse crampless for a year. ;) And will have a word with Tony the pharmacist next time I'm in.

When I was young (a long time ago), I used to wear high heeled shoes all day at work then drop into low heels on arrival home - and I often got cramps then - particularly when I played night tennis. Running around in tennis shoes would cause cramps - and I was the laugh of my friends when I began doing a dance on the tennis court! It would only happen once and then my muscles would be OK and I could run without a problem. It seemed to be a case of the muscles changing to suit the shoes!

Wish I could remember the name but they are some kind of sulphate tablet. Ask your phramacist - he will tell you if you can buy them or if you need a prescription. Sometimes it is lack of salt and salt tablets can help - but not if you can't have much/any salt in your diet. I found them to be wonderful. At a time when I got cramps very often, I could take one tablet and the cramps would subside in a matter of minutes and I wouldn't need to take another one for a month.

I haven't had cramps for a long time and had a bout this week, so I might ask my doc for a prescription next time I see her.

LOL Muffy, I knew you would ask...suppose you could have a drop lol.

Janey, Google 'Crampex' they are good though I'm not sure if you would be able to get them where you are.
