Liz, I thought we would have time to speak before you go but I ran out of time and you were so busy. I just wanted to say have a lovely time if you see this before you go, as for telling us to be good, we won't know what you get up to, lol. You can catch up with our doings when you get back on the threads.

When we were young if we were going to a party mum would say 'be a good girl, have a nice time' and we would tell her to 'make up your mind, mother'.

Went into the city with o.h. on Sat pm and got more bits and pieces, and some lovely cheap soft leather shoes as all I had to take was flipflop type sandals, lots of them, and thought I should have one proper pair of shoes. Also took advantage of Bhs 20% off weekend so got a few things, a couple of sundresses, there's hopeful lol, and two skirts, one called Bizzy Lizzy lol cos it is navy with white and pink bizzie lizzies on and some of you know it is similar to my email address. lol Ended up getting the flowered skirt free lol cos of discount. Everything is nearly ready to pack now, just a few last minute things to wash today and the bedlinen to change and get washed, and hopefully an easy time finishing packing and ready for the off on Monday around 2pm.

Be good while I am gone and hope you will all stay well, I will miss knowing all the goings on lol

When is he going, while I am away I suppose! If you will still be 'on your own' after 5th or 6th Oct let me know and I will try and ring you. Bet you will be glad of the breather lol Thanks for the good wishes, we have now found out that the sister and b.i.l. only gave her father the name and phone number of the travel company, which is Thomsons, so we won't be able to get in touch, what a shame lol Will just have to hope we don't bump into them early on lol

I went to my house yesterday and lo and behold, a bundle of mail including the letter with the first cheque inside, sent on 9th Sept. I wonder where it has been hiding all that time!

Mandy, I would wave back if I knew where to direct the wave lol Will eat lots of yogourt, and all the other lovely things there are to eat in Greece lol

lol Susan, keep the gun, I have decided the holiday will be fine!!! Now the cheque has arrived and is safely in the bank and will be cleared by Tuesday, I am less stressed and don't have too much else to do to get ready now and have all weekend to do it! We fly just after 5pm on Monday afternoon so won't have to get up too early on Monday.

You have all been so supportive, wish I could send cards to all but I will do my best to get some sent off, usually I end up coming home with cards and stamps unused lol

Daff, thanks, was just soooo stressful but amazing what a chat with friends can do to help. It was because I was trying to do so much and was alone, mind you would have been worse if K was home as he is not good at the supportive bit.

Thanks Huia, I will be back on 5th October so as you say, might be best to wait a bit, also there are lots of postal worker strikes in the offing again according to the news tonight so hopefully they will be over by mid October. I look forward to seeing the calender.

Sheila, off to Corrrphew on Monday afternoon! Got my suitcase out today and dusted it off and found my beach towels and bag.

BC. - I have done that before now, in the days when you could carry lots of things on board lol Sainsbury's bag with portable cassette player and tapes lol My friend was carrying them on the way back, cos I had stayed on for a further week or so with the man I met lol, and the bag split and all the tapes crashed from the top of the stairway to the ground, she had everyone running round picking up tapes and cases lol
