JoyBoroAngel Report 25 Sep 2009 12:37

it amazes me

how stupid the police statements can be sometimes

the other week a plumbing center was burgled round here
and some toilets were stolen
police said they had nothing to go on

On a serious note - here's another classic, about a teenage girl gang-raped in Bolton

Police described the attack as "disturbing". ...............

I presume from the way the report was worded, that the suitcase has become exposed after the pond has dried up, so it COULD have been there for years...........

Karen, there really was a body found in a suitcase....though the thread is really about what the police say about it, and other crimes.

Funniest police statement I heard was when they found a rifle complete with ammunition in a holdall in a public park.

In all seriousness the Police Superintendent said, "in the wrong hands these weapons can be dangerous".

Really? I would have never guessed !

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 25 Sep 2009 21:11

Bernie me boyo.......

you may scoff about the police comments and rifles, but are you aware that there have been 85 cases of police injuries ""HeH Heh ""marksmen" Heh Heh"" during indeliberate/unauthorised discharges of a firearm, IE they have shot themselves in the foot, or elswhere........and the smallbore/shooting fraternity have ZERO...........Bob;

the most recent publicised case was the instructor that loaded a .44 magnum revolver with a LIVE round, in a classroom, and shot a student causing him severe stomach, bowel and abdominal injuries.

now the FIRST rule of firearm training is

NEVER EVER point a firearm at another person, whether it is loaded or empty.................

say no more........and these people are supposed to be looking after us, the public.........

and if you or I so much as wave a bunch of keys in a threatening manner we get banged up!!

You are so right Bob, our (once wonderful) police are now so laughable that nobody takes them seriously any more. They have certainly lost the respect they once had and they have no one to blame but themselves.
I think the trouble is that the upper levels are staffed by University people with degrees in an 'ology. We were better off when the ordinary bobbies had degrees in common sense.
