If you want to hear some silly police remarks you should come out with me and my mate Jan, on the lash. She's the most kindhearted person on the planet but Boy, does she say some stupid things!

I'll have to disagree with Bernie too. Our police on the whole do a wonderful job. Policing is not about how to catch a thief any more. It's much more complex, and when they do catch one, cases don't get past the CPS so they don't get to court, and if they do, they get a laughable sentence.

How would you feel as a copper, dealing with say a rape victim? You catch the rapist, you have to present more than enough evidence that you have the right one, and if it gets to court, he's given a 2 year sentence....

It must feel like it's a waste of time....

YOu try dealing with hundreds of drunken teenagers weekend after weekend, swearing at you, abusing you, assaulting you, spitting and vomiting on you...and still be patient at the end of the night.

So the occasional case where an officer has gone OTT with his authority is hardly surprising, they're only human...there are not enough of them, there are only as many as the government will allow.

But still the things they say sometimes are quite funny...:-))

I also think that programs like Road wars, traffic cops, cops with cameras, and of course those pathetic "Most wild police chases" from the states, dont do our REAL coppers any favours especially with that t*"t Boardman doing the commentary......
and why oh why do they have to repeat the same 5 second sequence over and over again.........is it just to fill out the half hour program?

Bob sorry, I digressed.......

years ago I complained at our local police station about a neighbour who lit garden fires every day - reply I got was "Well as long as the fire is in his own garden" Course it was, it wasn't the fire as such that was bothering me, it was the smoke which was in my garden!!!!

hi all found this looks like they have a name

Arrest in suitcase murder probe

Ms Questin was seen at Elephant and Castle tube station in London
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found in a suitcase in a dried-up pond on farmland in Kent.

The body, found in Cliffe, has been identified as Leah Questin, a 37-year-old care worker from London, but originally from the Philippines.

Results of post-mortem tests were inconclusive and forensic tests are ongoing to establish cause of death.

The man was arrested in Lewisham and is being held in custody in north London.

The heavily-decomposed remains of Ms Questin, who lived in Sneyd Road near Cricklewood, were found off Buckland Road last Thursday.

We need to understand where she was going, who she was meeting and how she came to be murdered

Det Ch Insp Peter Lansdown
She had been reported as a missing person on 12 September.

That day she was seen on CCTV travelling through London.

Det Ch Insp Peter Lansdown, from the homicide and serious crime command branch in Hendon, said Ms Questin was first seen leaving Elephant and Castle Underground station.

She then boarded a 172 bus on the New Kent Road, and headed south.

Officers have said it was not clear where she was heading.

Mr Lansdown said officers needed to speak to anyone who saw her, either on 12 September or afterwards.

He added: "We need to understand where she was going, who she was meeting and how she came to be murdered."

Remote spot

Ms Questin was described as "petite", about 4ft 11ins tall, with a light compexion and long black hair. She wore a red top and blue jeans.

Previously, Kent Police said they believed her body was kept elsewhere before being dumped at the remote spot, known as the Old Pond, sometime after late afternoon on 20 September.

Ms Questin was believed to have been dead for at least two weeks before the suitcase was found by a dog walker.

Officers have established the suitcase was not at the site before 20 September, but appealed for information to find out when it was left there.
