Christine - old photos are good on display because it's amazing when visitors see a family resemblance that you may not have noticed.

Friends of my daughter's inherited an old house from a grandfather that needed to be pulled down. They took photos of the house before it was gone, then a photo of the first foundations of the new house and continued until the house was complete. They then had the photos specially framed to show everything from start to finish including a photo of the grandparents outside the old house and a photo of the young couple with their children outside the new house. It's beautifully done.

I daren't count through the whole house but in this room my 'office' alone there are 15 frames. I counted frames rather than photos because 9 of the frames are large one with lots of small photos in a collage in them. I love to see family photos on display. the only time I would ever take them down would be if the house was up for sale. It apparently puts buyers off.

In the lounge I have 8 photos, in the dining room (L shaped onto the lounge I have 12 photos, those are of people. But in the lounge I have 3 photos as pictures and three in the dining room (scenic).

Oh dear...........I just had a count up....lol

32 photos in frames and another 39 that are stuck on the wall etc not in frames.............and I haven't counted ones that are of any pets !...........lol

Looking at them through different eyes as it where , I can now see why some people are a bit taken aback when they see my living room for the first time ......lol

I have a lovely sepia photo of my paternal great grandparents and family with my grandad sitting on his dad's knee. I also have a lovely family wedding photo with OH's parents, grandparents and other family. I have these on the walls. I also have a photo of my grandparents and grandma is pregnant with my dad and a lovely photo of 4 generations of women in 1912 from my mum's side of the family. Loads of other photos but these are the ones on display along with my family now.

Oh kybf.........what a delemia.......I just add any new photo to the same frame on top of the older photo of any children that are growing,,,,,,,then have them all in one place and can look back at the changes....

i have a photo of the baby tht he made me at school its his calender with his pisture in the middle,
and one of my ex who passed away next to my greta aunts picture, on me telly,
and one of the baby and me godson on me telly in me bedroom lol
but havent got round to putting no more up yet, i need some nice frames xx

we have about 12 in ar "rouges gallery" also a couple of sepia ones of the kids that look pretty authentic as they dressed in Victorian clothing with a backdrop to match ~ every pic tells a story and each one a friend

I only have 2 old ones....1 of OH and his mum when he was a baby and one of my parents in 1972

How many framed photos do you have on display of family past and present,

I got 21,,,,,,,,,,,is that too many:}}}}}}}but soon to add about 5/6 more old sepia ones,,,,
