NOT QUALIFIED TO ADVICE BUT WILL SAY
GO TO A SHOP AND TRY ,,TRY,,TRY

YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY FROM THERE
WHEN YOU FIND A SUITIBLE ONE
LOOK AROUND FOR A GOOD PRICE,
THEY CAN GET EXPENSIVE

Monty - the man who lives in the house next to me has one in the back bedroom window. I understand that he likes to look at the sky at night. Good job I'm not in me precious garden or summerhouse at night. Wouldn't want him spying on me LOL

Hi Running Bear, have you thought about using binoculars, these are cheaper than a telescope.
A pair of 10x 50, although only 10x mag will give a wide field of view & will open up a lot of the night sky to you. You'll also need a tripod. As its nigh on impossible to keep objects in the field of view still when just holding them.

If your heart is set on a a telescope. These sites give good advise, to help you decide what to aim for;
