Obviously the 'it wont happen to me' mentality. Well hopefully they were right, but how stupid can they be?

Well this has been really interesting and a little thought provoking.

What was the end result??

After the devastation of the Asian tsunami, authorities have spent many hours and much money in putting a tsunami warning system in place.

The last time there was an earthquake and a resulting tsunami, well you know the result.

What happened this time. There was an earthquake. The authorities warned of a possible tsunami threat. There was a possibility; the conditions were correct and this was their warning.

And what did the inert brained amoebic people do. Why they visited the beaches, swam in the sea or sat on the coastline waiting for the waves to come in.

I watch their stupidity on television and silently scream, because it is not ethical to yell it out loud. "Oh please let there be just one big wave, just big enough to wash some of them away".

So the authorities got it wrong. I wonder how many of them are tonight shaking their heads and wondering on the stupidity of humankind. Maybe next time the warning might need to be heeded!!

Its odd to think that an earthquake in one country can cause problems to others so many miles away.......just shows what a small world we all live in and it is not just wars that can cause devastation.....wishing our N.Z cousins well......x sally

good to hear you'r eall safe

The west coast of North America got a tsunami advisory ............... people in southern British Columbia have been told to keep away from beaches and marinas, and move away from low lying areas. Expected ca 3 pm ............. or nearly 2 hours ago

BUT nothing has appeared on radio or TV as to what actually happened

Mind you ............ Winter Olympics takes precedence!!

May you all stay safe
