Someone once copied a piece of writing of mine - nothing awful, just a witty riposte, but it had taken me a while to dream up. This person did not 'quote' me, just copied it as their own words. It did p** me off somewhat but I couldn't be bothered to retaliate!!

Nowt suprises me Muffy on this site at times....lets weigh up the evidence ... you c & p the posts nothing bad a bit of goading maybe, but we also discussing the meet, lets not forget the *slient *ones that monitor posts constantly and RR, for alsorts of silly reasons, some just because they think they are being posted to get at them.... I am going with that theory :)))

Sorry Muffy - I didn't realise you had abusive posts on your "anniversary" thread. I read it last night (my time) and it was ok then. A lot of posts are being deleted. Left long enough to make a point then gone. Can't be bothered with people who can't stand by their comments. All of them having a silly giggle between them in the background I'm sure.

I put up a perfectly genuine one about forgetting my wedding anniversary and got a gobful of abuse on there...for various random reasons ....

As I am fully aware that said member likes to delete posts overnight I copied every word they said *for the record* onto my next post and the whole thread went whooosh this morning.

Think that member was out to cause maximum unrest last night...wasn't paying close attention to the other threads but did see the bit where two members were being mixed up.....it's a pain but i shall continue to smile and wave.

Yes it was. I didn't read it I'll admit, not one of my favourite subjects, but it was obviously popular. Shame someone had to try to spoil it.

I can't be bothered to report - it's all just the same old same old. I thought it was a shame that Margot's UFO thread disappeared.

Me neither...mostly because I miss a whole load of the thread while I'm reporting, and I'm too nosey.

The only good thing about that is that it doesn't last long....a ban quickly follows, every time. Do they never learn?

I have just ploughed through the T&Cs and can see nothing forbidding the copying and re-posting of posts.

Well.... the original hadn't been deleted at the time I c&p'd it Sue...though on past form it was probably earmarked to be at some time during the night.......xx

I would think that it would be seen as a "quote" from another post that is there to be seen by everyone anyway - or was the original deleted. A lot of that going around at the moment. I know it's against the t & c's to post a PM as TW said.

Not that I know of. I mean we often do it to quote another person, especially on a fast moving thread, where the relevant post might be on another page before the reply gets posted.

I know it's against T&Cs to copy and paste a PM onto the boards..but that's a privacy thing.
