him and my mum came over today my step dad is loud and bubley i heard him before i saw him and it chocked me but i knew i had to be cheerfull and was, he talked and talked and we all agreed he would be fine, he is a big fellow and worked hard so he certainly has something to fight with, the phone rang it was my gp she is wonderfull she said she had tried ringing yesterday but got the answer phone , i told her what was happening, she checked my tabs were ok as thats what she had called for, and said if i needed to chat to her about dad i could, so i asked her about what he has , she said because its returned the prognosis is bad , i thanked her for her time , i walked back in living room with a smile and said the doc says she thinks you will be fine, bare faced lie but she dosnt have his notes or history so i wont take what she said as gospel, me and mum went to the gardening place and walked around a supermarket thing that sells everything, everyone felt better they went home happy, he is never ill , he still climbs on roofs to fix ariels and stands on top of his caravan to clean it and falls in next doors garden, he electrocutes himself and apart from specky he is another frank spencer DIY damage it yourself, he cant die cause mum cant use a cashpoint put electric key in and gas, he cleans the cooker pays the bills , bless him this morning he got out of bed and said to mum i better show you how everything works, he has just buried his brother from dying with bowel cancer, sorry waffling on xx

Waffle all you like, lovely..... it is good to have somewhere you can vent all your fears and worries when you need to keep cheerful for the family.

And you are right.... your GP is being as honest as she can be, but she doesn't have your stepdad's notes, and also.... everyone's cancer is slightly different, even if the have the same one... so no-one knows.... no-one.

Being positive helps build up the immune system... that is a proven fact.... and your stepdad's immune system is what will be helping the chemo/radotherapy/surgery.... whatever he needs.... to beat his cancer... so being positive will help no end.

Love and ((((((hugs)))))

Like your step dad, I thought I had better show my OH and son how to cope in the kitchen, pay the bills(thats when we went direct debit so they didnt have to bother) And how to use the washing machine. 22yrs later, OH doesnt cook, but does the ironing, never pays a bill. Can turn off the washing machine. I had been told I wouldnt last the year, my GP had never seen a patient with ovarian cancer recover.
