maggiewinchester Report 21 Mar 2010 18:09

My third grandchild was due on Tuesday 9 March.
This morning it was still moving - preferring the 'transverse' ie sideways position - best!
The little one has been 'rearranged' 3 times - but still moved sideways! It has also put on at least 3lbs since 'due' date.
Daughter really doesn't want a section, so this morning, they turned the babe and started induction.
I know this as my daughter texted me stating -'As I text this I am being induced' LOL

We're all sure it's a girl now - a boy wouldn't bother moving so much and, as one of her friends said a boy wouldn't dare mess their mum around like this!!

....and I'm still waiting for news!!.......

Hope you dont have to wait much longer. My third baby was a breech and she was always being turned.Funny sensation. At one time the nurse turned her and wrapped and pinned a bath towel round me,As soon as the towel was taken off i felt her turn again.Hope you have some news by the morning. Annie

Daughter just texted me again - it's going to be a long night for her, she's only 1cm dilated after 6 hours!

My daughter phoned at 10pm, to tell me she had a baby boy at 8:30!!!

Wong about the sex, then!
Both mum and baby are doing fine - mum has a few stitches (1cm at 6:30, baby born at 8:30 - bit quick!!) Baby, once he started - hadn't stopped feeding! when she pnoned!
Dad has a RSI from rubbing her back!

Baby will probably be called Jago. (Cornish version of Jacob)

Hi Ann,
They hadn't weighed him - he was too busy feeding - but daughter thinks he's 8lb +!!
Whatever number they come out with now will be irrelevant!! LOL

Great news Maggie, but I am pmsl, 'Yesterday at 18:29 Daughter just texted me again - it's going to be a long night for her, she's only 1cm dilated after 6 hours! '

followed by:

'My daughter phoned at 10pm, to tell me she had a baby boy at 8:30!!!'

Just as well you aren't a midwife lol!

Glad all is well and it will be a guesstimate for his birth weight then eh?

Hope your daughter is comfy and his dad will recover from the rsi.
Wishing little Jago a happy and healthy life, love his name!

I've just seen him! Daughter and her husband dropped in on their way home. He is (of course) lovely! :o)
Weight - 8lb 9 ozs - bit still seems tiny - looks just like his elder brother (now aged 27 months) did at that age!! LOL
