The amazing thing I found is that my paternal grandfather was one of 17 children most of them boys but there are only a handful left to carry on the family name. If the boys that carry the name have girls then that's it.

My Gt G/dad was nearly 40 when my G/Dad was born, then he was nearly 40 when my Mum was born & she was 25 when i was born

Yes....we ( Melbourne ) got flooded this morning. Caused havoc for early morn traffic.

Wasnt as bad as a couple of weeks ago though. Hail stones as big as golf balls ripped through my decking roof ( sob )......Mrs new Corolla ( 4 months old ) roof looks like the craters on the moon. Not a happy girl.

My oldest G,Grandad was bapt. 25 Jul 1835 in Limerick City Limerick, Ireland. He was 43 or 44 when my grandmother was born 1879, in Aussie.

His wife,my Great Gran was bapt. 23 Aug 1840 in Mountmellick, Kilkenny, Ireland

There my eldest Greats in my tree.

Weeeellllll....not 21 but not 81 either. Seriously - my great grandad was 45 when my grandfather was born in 1885. Grandad married late and my dad was the youngest of four children. My dad was in his late 20's when I was born. My father's maternal grandfather was born in the same year as my paternal grandfather's eldest brother was born - 1866. Hope that makes sense.

What year were your oldest GR (only 1 gr) grandparents born.
My eldest Gr grandfather born 1832 and eldest
Gr grandmother born 1837.
God I feel old LOL
