I was on facebook for an hour. For 30 minutes of that time I had to work out how to use it. When I finally got that bit right it started asking me to type the two words in the box so it would know I was a real person. I looked down the front of my blouse just to check, decided I was a real person and typed the two words.
Then it told me if I would give it my mobile phone number I woud not have to type the two words because it would send me a text message.
I tried to reply saying I don't comprehend mobile phone. I don't have a mobile phone, I don't use a mobile phone. I thought I could compromise and send it my landline number.
Then it asked me to type the two words in the box again.
So I deactivated my account. It wanted to know why.

Until recently I had my name back to front on my facebook page, surname first lol Changed it a month or so ago.
I had a problem getting on to the Facebook Chat facility last evening, my late cousin's daughter added me recently and popped up to chat and I couldn't do it, have used it before but wouldn't work for me this time. I have had some lovely chats with my friends' young sons and daughters from Malta and Canada, while their parents sleep lol One is a dj aged 28, the other will be 18 this week and I can remember taking my son to her parent's wedding in Malta, and the other one is a young policewoman in Malta in her early 20s, we also attended her parent's wedding when my son was just 3. I love it.
I don't join groups, my son warned me that you can end up getting too much junk email stuff through them, and I struggle to keep up with all my emails as it is so gave up the idea. He also stopped me from looking at his photos and stuff as I queried his alcohol intake once when I saw on all his photos he had cans or glasses in his hand, he had already stopped his stepmother from joining in and looking at his page as he didn't want her knowing what he was doing, she is really nosey, always asking things. Somehow last evening I managed to get to look at his photos, in an indirect way, and spotted names of a couple of his friends that rang bells. I recognise a lot of his friends but there were new ones. One is the son of our once family doctor, retired now through ill health but the doctor's aunt was my schoolteacher when I was 6 and she and my Mum stayed in touch til Mum died and I took over the contact till my lovely 'Miss Smith' died. She was the teacher who made me like school unlike the teacher in the first year at infants who would ridicule me when I cried for my Mum. One pretty girl is, I am sure, the daughter of a local solicitor, who I helped childmind when he was small, I was about 13 and used to go to the house to help as there were four young children under 6, and the mother didn't always cope well. Her husband was also a doctor and my Mum used to clean for them for a little while and I would go round to play with the children and keep them away from the cleaning stuff etc. I also helped out when the parents went on holiday and a Nanny lived in. I walked with the Nanny, two little girls in the pram, Richard the now solicitor on his tricycle and must have been another little girl in a pushchair or something, can't imagine she would have walked all the way as we went on a picnic to a local beauty spot that is several miles away from where they lived.
About 15 yrs ago I was helping a friend with his Terracotta shop, selling plant pots, small plants and similar stuff. A chap came in with two small children and I kept them safely occupied while he browsed to save any mishaps, after he had gone I noticed the name on the credit card slip and it was this solicitor. I rang him and told him who I was, of course we hadn't recognised each other as 30 yrs had passed by.
Small world, eh? Amazing who you can find on facebook.
