A volcano erupted in Iceland and all UK flights are grounded. Nick Clegg won the debate last night, the FTSI has slumped today and a flying saucer landed at Stonehenge and abducted 3 sheep. Apart from that, it's pretty quiet. |

Might go to the pub tonight, but it's dead at the moment, it being lambing time and all that. All mine are tucked up for the night now though. Had triplets this afternoon so had to set one of them onto a ewe who had one of hers die yesterday. Hopefully she will accept it, or else it will have to be a pet and that's just a pain in the rear. |

Do you have to cover the surrogate lamb in the dead lambs skin to get the scent and all that Eldrick...or is that just a James Herriot style myth? xx |

No, that's exactly what you do - skin the dead lamb and tie it round the orphan one, then put it in a pen with the ewe to try to get her to accept it. Doesn't always work, but usually does. |

Pet lambs are to be avoided at all costs if at all possible.....place gets cluttered up with bottles and spilt milk powder and the dogs get banished and its just a time consuming pain. Especially when they follow you round for months after you stick them back in the field. |
