General Chat

Would anyone else like to join the writers group ? (see thread on General) A few regular members have other commitments at the moment so it would be nice if we could increase the numbers.

It is all very friendly :)) only 'constructive criticism', no back-biting and lots of 'trust'....poetry, prose and plenty of humour.

If anyone would like to, please PM me, or add below ( out for a while but will get back to you).

A tentative HELLO!
I had considered asking if I could join a few months ago but when I looked on the general thread you all seemed to know each other and I thought maybe it wasn't for me. I don't have much time and my creative/expressive juices havn't been used for a long time and with this I am not sure where or if I could do it! What do you think please?

Hello Oldbean and Sylvia, you would be very very welcome to join the Group. We are very kind, non judgemental and would be delighted if you could join us! We are all in the same boat! Rose will fill you with the details when she comes online.

Why not just give it a try? you can always drop out again. The format is not rigid, we write one or two pieces a week, some write poems, some prose, some short pieces some long. Sometimes we have a set topic, sometimes free writing. It is all done by private e mail (not PMs) and none of the writing is put on the boards. we offer each other praise and criticism. The first thing Rose will want is your private email (sent to her by PM), you can then receive an example of our writing, the next lot goes out thursday if we have anything to send.

You will be made welcome, I promise.......

Rose just wanted to say I can't join the group... why you ask? well I can barely write my own ruddy name,utterly useless I am..LOL
Plus I completely forgot there was a writing group!
Those of you that are good at it should give it a go though,I'm sure you all have fun.

How are you going to get to know anyone if you don't join in? That's what it's all about, finding common ground and getting to know each other.

Go on, give it a go, or you'll never know :-)))

PS don't be intimidated by other's writing either, we have some very talented individuals in the group, but that's the point, we are all individual in our preferences, style, strengths and weaknesses, and the main aim of the group is not just to showcase our work, but to learn from each other and improve in our craft. We're all on a learning curve.

We ARE all very friendly, and though some have met off the board, most don't 'know' each other...and we're certainly not cliquey...that would be disastrous for a writing group...really, everyone is very welcome as has been said :))

Helo everyone, I have just come across your writing group and would like to join you if I may. I have missed the writing group so much that I belong to
when living in Cornwall..Am now back in Chelteham Will you please let me know the type of material you use,,ie serious humerous, prose poetry etc
When I returned I tried to find a group but the only one was nothing like my former group and so I would be interested. Must let you know one thing .I
cannot get the hang of finding and using these chat groups I will hope to find my way back ..Marian
