VERY cold here this am! Laura was taking Polly to Heathrow (?!!!) for this show that she's in. Rang earlier but line was engaged, rang again and no reply!! hope they're OK! I don't know, one minute they're all at 'deaths door' and the next they're tobogganing down White Horse Hill! I just can't get my head round them at all!!! Never seen so many small birds + 2 pheasants, all tucking in to the seed and porridge oats we've put out; have de-iced the birdbath twice already and it's frozen again. David, I think house selling can be one long nightmare! some people down the road from us have been on the market for a year (!!) They finally got a really keen buyer, but yesterday the buyers buyer withdrew, so buyer has a house to sell!! so 'sold' house is now going back on the market! how disappointing can that be! Hope your tum continues to clear up Fiona, I find that some things I used to eat years ago without any bother are now a complete NO, NO, white onion in particular!! to name but one, red in moderation is OK, but white? talk about 'galloping gut rot' as a friend of ours years ago, used to delicately put it!!! must go and make the bed!!!

Bad news I'm afaid. My sister passed away at 11am this morning. very peacefully my niece said She didn't suffer, So that's a god send

Lewis and I were out at 9.30am with sledge, we walked about a mile to a good field, that is quite steep. Byt the snow was to thick and powdery for the Sledge. So we had to walk home again, I am completly BUGGE##. He has cleared all the snow down the drive and on the patio, even a path throught the lawn to the chickens. !!! I suppose we have about 4 inches of snow. and very bad on the roads, cars abandaned everywhere, and those trying to get about are sliding all over the place.Best place is indoors.

It took Lewis and family two and a half hours to get to us last night. usual half hpur run. Jacknifed lorries and slipping cars, everywhere. Took DIL 31/2 hours to get from MK to Toddington about 8 miles.

Hi Just popped on to say I had some nice pictures a lovely cake picture from Fiona and a very funny joke from Maureen it tickled me pink. The cake
Fiona was lovely did you make it very clever if you did.

I had to read right back to see if anyone commented at all on my few threads.Did find one or two thank you.

Well we have about 9ft of snow out in the back garden and yesterday was artic conditions but we managed to get to Sainsbury and got some food.

Uncle Bryne who was telling me I spelt his name incorrectly and Ryan and Beanie who looks like what do you call those long beans well he is very tall with glasses very American . They are all staying at a hotel close by I could not cope with so many people.until Chritsmas.
Jess and April are here. Aprils been making a snowman and I have been taking taking some photoes around here in the snow.

I had a nice tea yesterday ham with apricot and veal pie with cranberries
it was Christmas food but we indulged early to celebrate getting to the super market to feed the clan.

Yes Jane it was disapointing the ballet nothing Christmas like for the children I think they wanted a lovely Cinderella and a coach and horses
but got a bendy wire frame and a toad and that was it. The ugly sisters were very funny but not sure the children understood the humour but it was a ballet and not a panto but it seemed like they had skimped on a few things. Maybe the Secret Garden will be better but you know I have ceased worrying myself into a early grave the tension I have gone through these last months showed when I had my blood pressure taken it was sky high.

On a cheerful note its a lovely today and the snow looks so pretty and earlier a group of people were singing carols nearby the hospice Christmas tree

I think Beryl maybe ill Jane she keeps shaking her head and she is going for some tests. Eric disapeared and Donnie returned and I told Beryl to get herself well and not worry about men. She replied men are my life and you are just jealous because you have not got any. I thought excuse me Beryl what is my husband a man or something else he is the only man I
want although is is bald and deaf and grumpy at times I still love him.I see dozens of males everyday relatives and customers I shouild be worried prefere female company myself.

Shirl look at your computor Christmas day if your round sent something do not know if it will get to you. I hope so.Was experimenting with the thingies on here!!!

I choked on Maureens joke it was so funny the best laugh I have had hope she is ok not many messages unless I missed a few.

Some friend is surposed to come over Christmas from Newcastle with her new adopted daughter Lexi but do not know wether she will make it if its snowed.People in Wales are snowed in.

Nice to see Jill name back .

Mel I would love a robin like yours we have one comes in and eats and flies away.

Amanda April loved the photoes of your little baby she was looking at all my pictures again.

Well lets hope the snow does not spoil the parcel deliveries and the shopping sprees for Christmas.

Shirl I do some tests on myself prick my finger and have a high blood pressure reading machine and go to the local clinic and get lots of advice
from experts on handling being diabetic type 2 just keeping my fingers crossed I can handle my first Christmas with not much sweet stuff .
I love the Mon Cheri chocs and my chocolate ginger and my special mince pies stuffed full of Cherries and coated in Icing will have to really be strong. Do my rowing and eat a good balanced diet so boring. Ryan said Sheil I bought you the biggest box of chocolates I could find Jess said yes and mums diabetic 2 poor Ryan he follows Jessica around and she is so
cold towards him. The family took a trip to Matts grave but could not see it so much snow completely snowed under and disapeared .But maybe he will sense the love bless him I sent mine its still in my heart will never forget Matt we became so close before he died .I did not see much of him before then.

Michelle looks upset at the mention of babies.
Well will go now I have such a lot to do with everyone decending on us for Christmas. Take care everyone xx

Mohsen SIL needs to go back Tuesday to find out if he can stay and pay his huge amount of money and if he wants British Citizenship it will be another £200 so many come here for nothing and SIL pays all that money to marry my daughter. Mohsens been working in that cold garage everynight this week and this week end. have a nice day..Will browse later I like reading the threads.

Frank,I'm so sorry to hear that your sister has passed away.As you say ,at least she didn't suffer. Her daughters will be distraught right now I'm sure, but at least they are all together.
We had no snow last night at all, just that severe frost.James is on his way home now.I think it may be a slow journey. But as long as he stays safe that is the main thing. He has a full tank of petrol and plenty of clothes to keep warm should he get held up.
I think you should rest up now for the rest of the day after your morning out with Lewis !At least you have him with you,it will help to take your mind off your sister a little.

I am doing casserole today.Beef for Chris ,James and me,and a chicken one for Hannah.I thought that would be the best meal just in case James gets delayed. We will have a roast in the week.

Sorry to hear your sad news about your sister Frank. Such a shame, but a blessing though that she died peacefully. Good boy Lewis, clearing the snow for you........hope you have got your feet up and are resting like nurse Jane says!

Mel, your room looks a treat and I like your new curtains......it all looks fresh and airy. You have more snow than us too.......not even enough here for a tiny snowman.

Thanks for your pic too Liz.......nice to see you at last....your hair is similar to mine. I see your snow is quite deep.......Merlin will be enjoying his hay rations in that lot!! lol

We were up early today and have all the tea ready now, salads, bread and butter, black forest gateau, cakes..... everything plated up ready just to put on the table which is all set ready. The crackers are in place, which OH hates, but his parents insist on buying for us. All I have to do is get changed and put some lippy and perfume on now!! Must do some washing next week or we will be running out of underwear!! lol

Jane Report 19 Dec 2010 14:21

Have a lovely time this afternoon Ann!.Make sure you all wear your paper hats.
As for doing your washing you can always go commando ,although it might be a bit chilly around those nether regions lol.
James still hasn't arrived .I think it is obviously a slow journey.I know he is looking forward to a few home comforts for a couple of weeks.Home is so much better than a Student House. His favourite 2 things are being able to stretch out on a settee, and having his double bed.Plus having all his meals cooked for him of course lol

Mandy ,James said the journey wasn't too bad once he got past the Dartford Tunnel which was closed for a while. It;s so nice to have him home. It's ages since I saw him.First thing he did was to go and have a wander around the garden. Then he came in and said what a 'cra*' Xmas tree I bought !!!!!!
I am now waiting for all the washing to come in from his car lol...Kids eh!

No Sheila for a few days.Maureen needs a new computer.

Jane, Millie's coat is for indoors only!!! She's got an outdoor one that is bright yellow and waterproof!! she's also got a Barber, (!) but she's now SO tubby that it only fits where it touches!!!! Glad your James is home safely, Xmas Tree? sort of comment my son would have made many moons ago!! Ham in the oven, better go and check it!!!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 19 Dec 2010 15:47

Well there you go Jane, we bring them up to be honest !!! lol

Jane

Jane Report 19 Dec 2010 16:01

I had a Barber coat for my dear old Dodger (my last dog) after he had major surgery on his back .He was shaved the whole way down his back so needed some warmth. But it never stayed in place .It would gradually slip around to the side as he was walking so the top nearly ended up under his tummy.
He had clips from his neck to his tail, and I had to hold him up with a towel under his tum to take the weight off his legs when he went out to do his toilet.Sadly his op didn't work and he lost the use of his legs. That was the end of my lovely dog.

I am still having comments on my Xmas tree !! I think it looks fine !!!!!!!!

LilyL

LilyL Report 19 Dec 2010 16:07

If they don't like your Tree, then they'll have to go out and get another one!!! suggest that and see what happens!!! Your poor old dog, what a shame, as my son would say (and he's 46 next Wed, mind you ,going on 16!!) 'A right bummer!'
