There is some on E*ay £1.99 for six in bright colours , but if you can get them for nothing ,that's more profit for the scout hut !!

Jane ,i'am using the S*hwartz packet mix curry , its not smelling to strong as yet !! better give it a stir.

Mum used to make peg bags but we were in the clothes trade and all the clothes came on wooden hangers then and did jus cut the ends off for her. You could try that with the plastic ones if you cn't get childrens ones. OR what about those trouser hangers. I have a load of them, they would do and they are straight on the top.

I think you could probably ask £100 for all your chicken gear Frank.

I can't get on with clering my tunnel and thats in the dry!!!! I am fed up with this miserable weather and don't really want to do anything. I did have a look at the border this morning and the rabbits have eaten all the leaves off the Campanular Persifolia AGAIN and in the flowering time when the stalks come up with the potential flowers on them they think it is asparagus for themselves even if I tie the stalks to canes!!! These flowers are evergreen too. Lovely for cutting for flower arranging but I never geet a good crop.

Think everyone is feeling cheesed off today!! I know the weather is driving a lot of people gently mad!! I've nearly joined the Depression Thread, but thought that could depress me even more!!!! think I'll just stay here! Thanks Jane, I am getting a bit twitchy about OH; it all seemed way ahead and now is only a week away. We have been getting in enough hay and food for Merlin, car going for MOT tomorrow, and other jobs that OH usually sees to and may not be able to do for a while. Have to keep cheeryish for OH as I don't want him getting too worried about himself, on the other hand don't want to appear uncaring!!!. Mel, I've pulled all the frosted greens and left them in the Wheelbarrow! spect it'll rain like mad now and they'll turn to mush!!! Brisket is now ready after three hours on high, spuds and veg as well, so NO washing up to speak of! Have just bought some 'Tweed' body spray on line (!!) can't seem to get it in the shops these days, Laura says it's because it's for 'old ladies' and tutted at me!! Pointed out that I AM an old lady and I like it!!! Should be here in two days so shall be well chuffed!

Afternoon all
Been busy tidying & organising my front bedroom where I keep my Family History files etc. OH & I went down to Home**se to buy a couple of shelving units so I could put my folders in one & my books & photograph albums in another. there were quite a few different styles in the sales so I got one that is free standing with 5 shelves & another small one I can pop on my desk to put folders & papers in. great what a difference to get things put away tidy and of the floor.

weather dry but dull, was really wild during the night with the wind lashing down.

Sorry everyone is feeling down today . I was low this morning a bit weepy so I didn't go to church, I think that is why OH says lets go and look at the sales, try & cheer me up,

Frank is it just the little plastic hangers you need, like the ones you put baby clothes on , Jane could be right try Wilk**sons, or the charity shops.
or maybe the cheap shops like Po**dland,PO**streacher

Heavens ,I remember Tweed Liz.Was that in the 60's or 70's ? I can't think.
Did it have a bit of Tartan on the bottle?
I'm sure you are getting a bit twitchy.I know I would. It is difficult trying to stay up beat for someone who you love knowing what they are going to have to go through.(and you too).

Yes it is sad about Suzannah (sp) York.I was just looking at the news on here .She was a very elegant Lady and beautiful Lady.

Going back to perfume ......Evening in Paris!!!!!! in the tiny blue bottle. My sister threw some in my eyes when she was little. My goodness I was nearly blind lol.
I have never forgotten that ,and neither has she lolol.I think the bottle had a little ribbon around the neck of the bottle.

With a little silver triangle on the front of the bottle in the laft hand corner.

Love it as a child. Mum and nan had Evening in paris. I was once given a round bottle from it in dark blue glass with a glass stopper on the top. this had a flat round on the stopper with stars printed on it.

Just going out to do the chickens and fill up all the bird feeders for the wild ones. They need new fat balls and pesnuts too.

Afternoon All,

It was sunny here earlier and it said 13 degrees on the car thermometer....pheeeuuw!

Glad I'm not the only one sleeping badly. I can't get off when I go to bed till 1 or 2 am, then wake up about 4, (funny I have to get out for a wee too), then can't get off again!! Just can't get up in the mornings either. Last week I think I was awake all night 2 of the nights. I told OH I was fully trained for working nightshifts now. I think I need to force myself to get up early and to do more walking again. lol

We went out for lunch then visited MIL and FIL today. They had a jigsaw of a farmyard all set out, as they do jigsaws from xmas to easter every year.......never at any other time! lol FIL's scan he had was clear, but the doc wants him to have 3 monthly blood tests to keep an eye on his kidney function. We are taking them to the film museum at Bradford on his 90th birthday in a fortnight and he is really looking forward to that and then out for a meal 2 days later.

Jane, I've noticed that some men don't even try to be discreet these days.....even when there are bushes they could go behind!!

Jane

Jane Report 16 Jan 2011 16:53

Ann ,He did it on a bush ,just stood in front of it instead of behind lol.
Looks like we could all have chat on here in the middle of the night .Seems like most of us are awake.I would like to go to sleep about 10.30 and not wake again until disturbed by the alarm.I wonder what tonight will be like.

I haven't done a jigsaw in some time.I might see if we have any still around.

I am stuffed now after a lovely meal.Think I need a lie down lol

Hi Everyone

I have just read todays news and its wonderful to know that I am nbot the only one who tosses and turns in the night ( usually after a visit to the loo) but I have to admit that I slept allnight last night and, unusually, didnt need the loo.
The weather today has been very mild again and it was dry when I went to paint this morning but pouring when I came out again about an hour ago.
Shopping went well yesterday and the theatre superb.
Casserole cooking and I an waiting for hubby and then we can eat.

Frank I missed the derby game between Newcastle and Sunderland but the news tells me it was a draw.Marital harmony tonight as I support Newcastle and hubby is a life long Sunderland fan

Forgot Larkrise to Candelford was on at 8.00, so missed it, will watch it on catch up Tv tomorrow.
Have to go down to the church coffee centre tomorrow afternoon to do a coffee duty 2-4pm, as one of the ladies is not well, usually quite busy on Monday's, Our church is on the main street of Hamilton right across from the shopping centre , so lots of people pop in to meet friends and have coffee.

Anne, I used to be a Sunderland football fan way back in the 70's, I remember having a crush on some of the players,

Billy Hughes
Bobby Kerr
Jimmy Montgomery
When Sunderland played Leeds in the 1973 FA Cup, I was was waiting in Roker Park Football Ground with my dad for the lads to come back with the cup, it was a fantastic atmosphere , all the cheering and singing,
Howay the Lads we used to sing at the top of our voices, Oh those were the days, lol

I'm off to bed myself now
Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.
xxxxxx
