Am doing lunch in the slow cooker today, chicken, and veg all in together!! Hope it'll be OK!! Yes Jane, Ian has a leg bag, and a big night bag which hooks onto the leg bag. It's all OK just a bit tedious!! Good thing I did all that 'Care in the Community' for all those years, at least I know which end is which!!! we have quite a few snowdrops out now, and, yes, I think what you saw were celandines Mandy, I've noticed some under the hedge up the road from us when I've taken Millie; sure sign of spring thank goodness. Got onto Surnames on Ancestry yesterday, and did a post for my maiden name, wonder if anyone will reply? watch this space!!! |

Hi Liz so pleased that Ian is coming along well now. Good luck for losing that dreaded bag tomorrow. I am sure he will feel so much better without it. |

I'm in the middle of a trip down memory lane. Sorting all the old photos, it's a real mess, they have been thrown into a big box and they are all mixed up. Think I will write the names on the back of some of them, as I can imagine in years to come great grandchildren asking who the people are and nobody will know. |

Well we are back. What a disappointment that was.Hannah said "well I don't know about a carpet of Snowdrops, there wasn't even a doormat" lolol. There were hardly any.Plenty of Celandines though !!.I right rip off.We decided not to have a bite of lunch there and went just along the way to a Buddhist Centre where there is a little Tea shop.It was a very long wait and they had run out of all sorts ,but I had a Pannini and Hannah had a Wrap. |

I might do that Mel , float a few in water ,what a shame Jane ,perhaps they need another week or two to bloom or a bit of sun !! Perhaps you should have tried where Frank suggested . |

Slow Cooker dins seems fine, we shall have it after I've fed Merlin and tucked him up, well, till just before we go to bed, when Ian, now me, slip down to his stable for a final wedge of hay! he's better cared for than we are!!! I spent a couple of weeks back in the summer sorting out old family photos and trying to put names to them! my mother inherited the family photos from my Granny, and when she died they were bequearthed to me. There is no one left, apart from me who knows who certain family members are, so I was under instruction from Laura and my much younger cousins to 'name and shame them'!!! I like the sound of your Lemon Tart Mandy! perhaps you could PM me with the receipt if you have time, it sounds delicious. |

Mandy I think I missed Franks post by about an hour.I wouldn't be surprised if some people complained about the lack of snowdrops.I know it nature and maybe the weather has held them back but I do think there should have been something to say it wasn't the 'Snowdrop Spectacular' that was expected. There were some family groups and even though children were free at £3 entrance it would have been quite a bit for some. |

Boiled bacon for us tonight and I am just going to dish up so it's over by the time Lark Rise comes on. I hope it is a bit better this week too. |

Remember when it was the fashion to have Matues Rose( can't think how to spell Matues) ,and the Restaurants had them on the tables with lots of candlewax all dripped down the sides. The bottles would be in a wicker thingamebob.I think it was common to have them in Bistros with checked tablecloths. |
