Margaret, Take no notice of what they say about me. !!! I am a young 72 year old, Daughter of 47, with three children, son of 45, (they are mine) then son of 45 and 43. The 45 year old has our Grandson (LEWIS) you will hear a lot about him if you stay will us.They are Ros's. More ours than my own . Won't go into details. I lived in Barton Seagrave, Kettering. from 1964 to 1978. Met my new wife and moved to Blisworth, near the Grand Union Canal. Been here every since. I knew Ringstead and Raunds quite well in the late 60s Use to fish around that area. Jane is from the Devon /cornwall Area, as is Mel. who started the thread. I am sure everyone will tell you where they hail from. How many children do you have.????

Don't get dissheartened Margaret. !!!! Mel, will tell you all the news from Devon as it happens. She's such a little gem. She is like a Mother Hen to us all, let alone a Fairy Godmother. She has helped so many of us with the Family history. Nothing seems to much trouble. Don't get big headed Mel, I know it's your birthday.!!!!

Sun is so bright outside, that you can hardly look down the garden.

Ros. has gone to the sewing circle. Getting ideas of what to make for the scouts fund.

Margaret ,do you know of Wembury(beach) just outside of Plymouth? That is where I am from.My Mum came from Bideford so I know a bit of your area down there. The last time I was down was a couple of years ago when my sister and I went to my Aunty's funeral .She lived at Westward Ho!.
We went and visited Mel at Buckland Filleigh and spent a nice couple of hours with her,and met all her chickens lol

It's still a bright afternoon,but blooming cold.
Margaret my 2 were little they used to have friends who lived on Chelveston Rd.It was very near the Home for the Blind. Also I used to take my old dog to Kennels further along that rd.It think it was Kiriandra Kennels.

Mel are you having a special meal or takeaway tonight?

Margaret

Margaret Report 14 Feb 2011 16:23

Jane , I don't know plymouth , at all well , , the odd thing is i have family connections to Plymouth, Bideford , ilfracombe , & a few in Cornwall.( Great grandparents & back ) .
Westward Ho is nice , the Bideford bridge is a bit scary ,Of course the view to Lundy is wonderful. we are going down on holiday to brixham in july , & we will stay our first night on Okehampton , so we can go into Hatherleigh , the children want to visit their friends.

The home for the Blind is still there , but I believe the kennels have now closed.

I must thank you all for your lovely cards. especially Maureen as I have a masterpiece of huge sunflowers signed by the artist,
M.Campos.

We may have to have a sunflower competition too to see who can grow the smallest one. We had one come up in the garden last year and it was only a foot tall and flowered too.

Pumpkins are such fun and if you take the ends out the plants don't take up that much space. Once you know a fruit has taken you take out the leading shoot two leaves past the developing fruit. Then all side shoots down to one leaf.

That was nice Jane, your flowers do sound pretty in a little watering can! You did really well to get such a close up snap of the squirrel..........he looks well on your fat balls doesn't he. lol The Kites must be even harder to get close too........we were lucky to see them so close that day from your car.

I have had another valentine.......he's managed to send me a cartoon one by email! I didn't know he could do that. lol He was out at footie when I got home and found it, so will be grinning when he gets back.

We have had a beautiful sunset tonight........will see if I can send pics.

Jane

Jane Report 14 Feb 2011 19:17

What a pity we didn't get a pic of those two Kites Ann.I think that would have been quite rare. There are a lot around at the moment so I will take my camera and hope to get a closer snap.Won't hold my breath though lol
