A book by Leslie Pearce had me in tears .I can't remember which one but it was about a girl who had to leave England and was sent to Australia.It could have been called Don't Look Back ,but am not sure. |

hi straykitten david peltzer had me in tears to, I read them all. saw him interviewed and couldnt believe after all he had been through , what a level headed, intelligent person he has become, I was sure it would have affected him mentally. dont know how he survived it all |

Jane, Lesley Pearse wrote Never Look Back but it was mainly set in America, about Mattie who started life in the slums of London as a flower girl, saved a toddlers life and went with the family to America. That was sad in places. |

Oh Jean - I was just thinking, the first time I wept was when I read 'Gone with the Wind' in 1969. When I finished it, I was on my own on New Year's Eve, in a little flat I rented with a friend in Shepherd's Bush and she was away and everyone was out having fun, I'd just finished with a boyfriend and was feeling sorry for myself, no telly, just my book and I wept buckets. I was so in love with Ashley!! |
