That you would add if you could!

In mine there are two things... an airing cupboard as I don't have one, and a decent understairs cupboard that I do not have to get on my hands and knees to get into! lolol

The whole house is in various stages of completion... but I can manage a half finished kitchen, lack of doors on the wardrobe alcove, etc etc I can cope with that and it doesn't bother me.... but I do miss a decent airing cupboard, and all that stuff hidden in a cupboard I can no longer reach, lolol........

More space of any sort would be good

and some silents once in a while

and sorry Daff but my airing cupboard is so big I need a ladder to get to stuff at the back

*goes green with envy @ Kemp's airing cupboard, lol!!

Emma, I have a lovely conservatory, and spend most of my time in here, especially in the Autumn/Winter/Spring. The glare on a sunny day in summer can be troublesome, although it doesn't get too hot...

My problem is storage. The wardrobe we converted to an airing-type cupboard now houses all my granddaughters stuff. My spare double bedroom houses all my son's stuff... and has taken up the built in and freestanding wardrobe, and two chests of drawers, plus the drawers under the bed.

My garage is filled with stuff my father needs to sort out as it belonged to his brother. I have been storing it for 4 years now, and still he hasn't even looked at it. As it is very dry in there, it would be perfect for storing a lot of the stuff that is indoors... and in fact we had started to get the shelving up, and converting old wardrobes when Uncle died.

I have stuff belonging to a brother, as well, plus stuff belonging to the son who moved back home in Sept last year. Plus all granddaughter's outdoor toys. And two leaky damp sheds, so nothing perishable goes in those, mainly gardening stuff.

Plus my kitchen still hasn't been finished, so we need to go and get qute a few more units to complete.

Oh, and we are hoarders, as well.... so Huston, we have a space problem, lolol

My name on the deeds! lol

if this were mine it would be perfect.... there are things i would do up and alter
but they would be a pleasure to do, i wouldn't change the basics it is a lovely 1950s house and has the original features especially the tiled fire place which everyone else would rip out but I love, a tiny kitchen which is terribly awkward...but has the compensation of a larder :))

i would add a giant hot tub mmmmm

MrDaff Report 11 Jul 2010 14:16

Kemp, you might have something there!!

Stray, the loft is full of military bits and pieces, plus throws/cushions/ornaments that I would normally use to change the *feel* of a room.... they all used to be in the drawers under the bed, and I cannot get into the loft, either, I have been stuck with the same colour scheme for the last couple of years... last year, hubby put them up, but the previous year I didn't use them cos I was in hospital and then recovering, so I am missing them very much and am restless for a change of colour highlights.!! lolol

Joan, that sounds like a really sensible, and would make life just a bit more comfortable for you, as well.

To do everything, I need a big rush of adrenaline and energy... I have big plans when I feel good, and then 2 hours into a five week job I have to rest for a week, lol So nothing gets done, and it just all looks too much to tackle. Still.... one day it will look lovely, lolol

Joy at my brother's yesterday, we looked at his cabins, one of which has sauna, hot tub, 50 + inch tv, and a stereo system to die for... well, actually, he nearly did, and it was the insurance from that which paid for it, so good luck to him. I wouldn't want the sauna, nor the gym housed in the second one, but with a connecting link built between the two. But I would quite like a hot tub or a little indoor swimming pool.

We did look at that for here, but there is a problem with the type of footings, it wouldn't have been feasible. So I have a nice large conservatory instead.

Rose, that would be lovely... I like the 50's fireplaces as well, and would have a little china tortoise on it, like my nan had ;¬))

In our living/sitting room we have a large window
at the front of house and had a smaller one at the back.
We removed smaller one and put in Patio doors which
slide open so we walk out into the garden area, saves
us going through the kitchen to get to the garden.

Hubby and I have just spent a few days in a very unspoilt part of Norfolk with my b-i-l. He lives in an old cottage in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by meadowland, wild flowers and just a cat (and the birds) for company. He has a small hexagonal summerhouse in the meadow and I spent quite a bit of time in there reading or listening to the radio and it was heaven. That's what I would like in my own garden - somewhere to get away from everybody sometimes and maybe do some painting.

I have now got hubby going through the internet looking to see how we can flog my dining table and chairs.... I haven't told him I want the wall unit gone, as well as some of the dark wood furniture that goes with it, I'll keep that for another day. I was going to put them on Freecycle, lol, and he was horrified but at least he is looking at getting rid!

Aw, bless you, Mummo....and If I win big you shall have your own little bungalow, with two loos and no trek, lolol ;¬))

Blissful, Wend.... sounds wonderful.

Emma our patio doors now open into the conservatory, my pc is just the other side of them... so I can be on pc, talk to hubby and watch tv all in one go... but shut myself off if I don't like what's on the box, lol I have french doors now, from kitchen into con, and from con into garden... so lovely

Wmsl @ Fiona.... bet you'd fill them in a couple of months!

To be fair, when son isn't here, there is plenty of space, but he moved back at a time when I didn't have the energy or strength to arrange it properly, so now everywhere is just even more cluttered. We had started renovating just as I was diagnosed, so it is still more or less in the same condition. *sighs* Just fed up with the towels and the bedding being on top of our chests of drawers in the bedroom.... or on son's bedroom floor, lol

I would like:

Conservatory - my back garden is only 30 ft and only gets the early morning sun. The front garden is 90 ft and gets sun from afternoon until dusk. I'm not sure whether it would be allowed being that it is a front garden.

Window sills - first place I have lived in that didn't have any.

Garden shed - difficult to describe, but the brick built shed that we have is attached to the house and the door is in the hall way.

Being able to walk around the outside of the house from back door to front door. It is a semi, but one side of the house is the neighbours garden.

There are a few more wishes, but this'll do for now.

Im with you Daff id love a bigger airing cupboard and a bigger cupboard understairs. i cant stand an ironing board up in it nor the hoover.

Id love for youngest son to have more room in his bedroom. He said when older sister moves out he will have her room. He is 11 and she is 19 and she said he would probably leave home before she does. lol
