Strangely I see women and children in the supermarket wearing their PJs and also in the Warehouse Store - usually after 8pm but very rarely do I see blokes out their in their jimjams.
It's even worse the women who wear their nighties with a scruffy dressing gown and fluffy slippers that have seen better days. (now I am being judgemental)

Many years ago we were at a Golden Wedding Anniversary and one of the women had been the couples bridesmaid... she was dressed very nicely in a silky top and trousers - sort of lounge suit and very filmstar like - My dad says to her "Why did you wear your Pyjamas?"

Actually some pyjamas are quite stylish where they have plain tops and complimenting colours for the pants with patterns, stripes. flowers etc.
I bought my grand daughter Betty Boop pyjamas which had a red midriff top with a pic of Betty Boop on it and red 3/4 pants with white hearts on them - they could easily be taken for an outfit to wear out.

Maybe it is another type of crossdressing.

I haven't seen any yet but if I did, I would probably think that their only other outfit must be getting laundered!

Hactually... just over the border, very close to your UK pad.... and even closer to mine.... the wearing of jammies and slippers in a Tescos store was banned, about two years ago I think (please bear in mind I have mislaid a year somewhere, if found please send it back to me) Very close to that pub we were banging on the door of before opening time!!

Maybe they started the trend *over by yere* lolol

Although I have never seen anyone wearing pjs locally, I first came aware of the trend perhaps 5 or 6 years ago in an area of Liverpool. I saw two women wearing them. i remember asking someone naively whether there was a maternity or woman's hospital nearby and were they just popping to the shops for some cigarettes. It was the trend for quite a while and i thought this had died down before I heard of this spreading yikes! I was reliably informed that they would get dressed and put on their best pjs to go out (they were clean and weren't something that they had slept in)

Ah....now that's something I've wondered SRS. Do they get up in the morning then go out in the same pj's only to go to bed in them again at night. Admittedly you can get some nice pj's but I don't think I could go out in mine. I mentioned this to my daughter last night and she told me that a couple of mums drop their children off at nursery in pj's but she hasn't seen any mums wearing them at the school.
