And every pack of Naafi Tea that is sold ......50p goes to the Help The Heroes charity........so get to the supermarket and buy some, l think thats brilliant.

Found this:

The tea served to Britain's servicemen and women for nearly 90 years is to go on sale to help raise money for troops injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Naafi Break, created by the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes (Naafi), will be available in 80 branches of Spar.

Doesn't give a price ...

Oh, Naafi break, we used to have tea if we had enough pennies for it at the end of the week. Spent many an evening in the Naafi club at Aldershot, you met everyone there. I think it is a great Idea, will look out for it in Tescos.

An Australian company, UNIBIC,has gone in with ,The Royal British Legion ,Jude, and are making an ANZAC Biscuit to the same recipe as supplied to the troops during the1st world war ,and are doing the same, 4% of the proceeds going to the British legion and the Red Cross, they should make a nice combination.naafi tea and biccies yum,Fred.

Oh, they did do, Ann.... I used to buy it all the time!!

I was just going to add that I drank it for 34 years... and there isn't another tea in my opinion that matches it for a good, proper British cuppa!

I know they haven't got it locally here.... I have tried, but the Spar there I would have expected it to be in.... or maybe they only got it in for me??? lol

Don't forget that for the past year they have been operating more as a corner shop than NAAFI and only just started getting back to normal with the influx from Germany.

WMSL.... Jude, that Ann in Glos is a cruel, cruel woman you know.... shattering all my delusions like that ;¬))

Spar took over the franchise of all the NAAFI stores a few years ago... so Spar shops will be your best bet... I do remember a few years agoo, the VE 50th celebrations, that Asda and Tesco had special packs out as well..... so you never know, they might do them eventually.

it must of changed then jude, cos in our house we make a joke of it, if someone gives us a weak cuppa tea , 'its like naafi tea, ' lmao, cos the teabags were so weak,
but we used to do naafi break,
every morning hubby would pop in the flat we lived in and then when we moved to house, at same time, for naafi break, sometimes his mates would come with him,

all the memorys come back
