The child can be registered by the mother and father, but they will not accept the fathers name if he is not there. |

I think you'll find that if the woman is married to a man other than the father - then her husband is deemed, by law, to be the father of the child. |

I dont see why there should be a problem for a couple, married, but not necessarily to each other, to register a child that is Theirs!! in the fathers name?? |

I know today if you arent married as long as father is there child can have his name if married only mother or father has to be there maybe was the same back then but they do seem to of told some good whopper back then and after all they dont ask for proof when registering do they |

My grandmother when registering my father's birth claimed that she was married - gave her maiden name and everything. She didn't marry my grandfather until 3 years later. |

i would liketo know how my grandfather could register his children when he wasn't married to the mother at the time of their birth |
