while walking to work today, i thought of gaynor bear, anyone remember her??????
and all the fundraising she did,
well,
i thought wot would be suitable for a hunky young man , brave, hero type of guy,
did i say handsome,
well anyway, i was thinking of Ash, and thought Action man,
if i get an action man he can go travelling and get some gifts,

so ive just got action man out
an hes going to weymouth tomorrow for weekend,
hopefully he can raise some 'gifts' of a kind,
and get some pics done,
and come back to travel somewhere else,

wot you think
can you guys help me too

Sounds a great idea JUlie Ann. It needs organising though so he doesn't get lost. I am sure if there was a diary went with him it would appeal to Ash's sense of humour. I am willing.

It worked before by linking people up so that you don't need to use the post, but that replies on people being able to travel around. GB was brought to me by Mags from Bristol and we took her round the golf club, then photographed her in the docks then we took her to Sallie who now lives in Ledbury but isn't on Genes any more. She took her to somebody whose name I should remember and can't just at this moment and I think Howie collected from her. That is how it worked. But Jennie collected names of people interested and then put them into regional groups and the groups worked out the rout. It did take over a year to complete though!

omg, my head would need sorting then

i would try to get him round places like hubbys works, that could be some laughs with the lads photos im sure,
and howie did have GB to visit, he brought her to show me, in work and took pics of her,

well ill keep everyone informed how it goes and where he is,
and will make arrangements to get him places,

My suggestion Julie Ann is to keep it fairly small at first, i.e., keep him in your area, then get him to another area where he can visit. But get him to return to you after each small visit so you keep track of him.. so maybe you can handle your part of Wales, then maybe he could come to me and I could hand him to, say, Jude who could take him to Jean and then get him back to you. Tat is just an idea for you to think about. But don't make it too complicated or it gets stressful.

Or play it like they do the visiting teddies from schools. Somebody takes him somewhere and photographs him there (on holiday for example.)

Jenny thought it was a mad idea when she first suggested GB's travels, but it was alot of fun.
When people knew she was going to be somewhere, either for a visit or handover, they often travelled to meet her.

Are you thinking of Action Man travelling far and wide or just places where you and immediate family can take him?

This could be a great idea Julie Ann.
I'd be willing to take part.

EDIT
Cross posted with Ann.
I agree that it might be best to try to keep track of him.otherwise it might be hard to know where he is and when.

~~~~~~~~~~~ waves to Val.
Yes I remember that day.
The lady was Carol, ...although I don't think she was on these boards much.
I took GB to various places, including Dover Castle and on to her next host in Hastings.
Julie
It took ages for GB to go round the country, but there's no reason why you couldn't start something off and see how much people want to get involved.
I think Action Man would have fitted in well at the Newport meet........
Message from Uzzi who is incommunicado at the moment
"Can you let them know that I am happy to have him over here in Spain, he can go and visit the famous Portman Guns...etc
If he was over here before Oct 15th I could get him home on that date. I could also probably get him a journey out here in an RV if places and times match."
