I remember quite a few creeps, Ronald (definitely not at the pub in Wool, Dorset though!). The Smooch was the one for me - not too energetic lol! |

There was a soap opera on BBC about that time called Compact and a dance called the Method came out of it where you had to pretend to be things. |

I remember I used to love twisting too.....seeing how far down or back you could go. Funny how most of us who did it can't do it now, me included!! Did all that 'twisting' do our knees in?? lol |

Remember Streatham locarno in 1951. before the twist. By the time that came along I had just had a baby and used it to get my shape back! There was a big change between 1950 and 59. It was my niece who was wearing net petticoats, I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and guess what,, she wanted a net petticoat, which she got after I had cleared it with her parents. |

Oooh! I remember the petticoats. Sometimes were stiffened with starch or a mix of sugar and water to get the most "flounces". Or wearing two or three shop-bought ones to boost the skirt! I remember envying Carole in the "Young Ones" with Cliff Richard. Winkle-pickers and sling-back shoes. Could still do the Twist but, as said - am more likely to out me back out these days! |
