Well it's taken 2 weeks and I finally have my email back at last

it has given me a lot of headache's but hotmail have finally accepted the account is mine.

still have 90% of my emails so that was a result

That is crazy Deb, is there anywhere you can appeal? Can imagine how you feel - all those saved emails and folders hold so much information!!

I was worried about the amount of information I was able to give - had the account so long it was hard to give the answer to the secret question when you can't remember the question!!

I did at least get the emails and folders back - the contacts list was wiped clean though.

All my personel email's was on that site

Passwords and a up to date C.V with all my details on it and the most important my banking details which I did stop last week. My children have also gone on this payment card for their dinner at school so I have had to change the email address on that to.

You dont realise untill you are in this position.

The hacker needs to find a job

It has caused me so much inconvience

Just to let you know since the 1st of october I have had a problem with my hotmail as it was hyjacked

I contacted hotmail on the 01/10/10 after filling in one of their forms askimg me my ip address, DOB, my provider, people on my contact list, last emails I sent ETC.. and I had a email back today saying it was not enough to convince them that I was the owner of the account

People with Hotmail account's beware change you email MSN have a good customer service

Hi Debbie
When I first contacted hotmail I emailed 2 departments as not sure which to go for. I got an automatic response, then nothing for a week!!
Then looked again and went in using the link at bottom of page I think I posted - had to fill in a form and they promised response within 24 hours.

Just doing a update but nothing new to say

I am still waiting for a reply from hotmail (nothing)

What made it worse today I have tried to order some household items on line today with my credit card which I have not used in ages. gone to the checkout they needed a variation code (i did not have one) to make one was easy but It would be sent to my email (the hacked one)

I could not change my email to my credit card as I cant remeber the password which I used with V**gin

Really fed up today and it has been raining all day to put the iceing on the cake

It is nice to hear that your friends were concerned about you and called you to see if you were okay. Someone mentioned they cannot speak/write English properly - I don't think this was meant as a derogatory remark merely that the written English made people suspicious........after all we don't use the term vacation or cell phone generally here in the UK.

Deb they probably have not read all your e-mails they just want people to believe their message to be true and wire them cash. Hope you get your account sorted out soon.

that is the problem

I have emails which i have kept from friends, emails from my bills (as I am on line billing) the more i think about it the more i feel sick

That this person has read my emails

I am going to go back to paper bills and pay the extra as I did not think of this before but I worry about everythng
it is not right

I think that's one of the worse parts - the email your family and friends are getting. However apart from that is the feeling that someone has gone through your account and the sheer inconvenience of it all. I really hope you get it sorted soon.

What the problem i have is my email have all the emails confirming my passwords on various sites which i use

This person somehow has kept my email address but they go to his site and i cant get onto my email .

I have changed all my accounts to a different email address but my family and friends are getting this horriable email.

It's horrible Deb - I've also had an email like this from someone I barely know. We corresponded because of a shared ancestor. As I hadn't heard about this scam it worried me for awhile.

Right I have just done Feed back thanks unclesamesneice so I await their reply

I cant do I forgot the password as somehow the hacker has got all my emails going to his email address which all i have found out is ch***@yahoo.com.

I am still thinkiing how did they get in to my computer

what a nightmare my on line banking has been stoped I've even changed my log in details to this site
