On freebmd when you see this

Marriages Mar 1868 (>99%)
.Brown John Dewsbury 9b 629

click on the blue 629 then you get this

Marriages Mar 1868 (>99%)
.Alderson Elizabeth Dewsbury 9b 629
Brown John Dewsbury 9b 629
Greenwood Christiana Dewsbury 9b 629
Tomlinson Richard Dewsbury 9b 629

I do not use this site as I found it usless but I have full membership for FMP and premium on ancestry but always use freebmd for older bmd's

Brian perhaps if you ask for a look-up on TTF board first, then armed with the answer ,see if you can find the same details to match doing it your way ,you might crack it.

lindsey do you know of genes having some glitch or is it that we all need to upgrade to platinum now?

it would probably easier to upgrade but if i don't need to i just thought the site would email me back and let me know about my question i have sent them.
or do you think they may rely on inpatient people just clicking upgrade to platimum

You may get an answer in the morning, but GR replies are normally a bit vague ! I dont recommend upgrading here.
If you want you can have a 14 day free trial on Ancestry, using the OLD search method just remember to cancel in time as you do have to register with your credit card details, to get the best out of it do it when you know you have time to stick at it.

I am backing up my files from here to ances without using my credit card and using matching details. but worry like many things like this i over stay and incur their costs.
like you are saying i have thought of using that 14 day free trial on a period when i'm not busy at work but it seems when i am off i am more busy
your so right though.
i just worry i'm gonna sign up an not learn enough in that time.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that way

I think you will find Brian most people would not recommend taking out the gold or platignum membership, I found out the hard way and am only a standard member now.

I lost most of my freebees when the internet went down for 10 days, but if you get stuck there are always willing helpers on board, so don't suffer , just ask !

in addition to that i have found many finds inacurate. against say my finds searching say a dob over many years and seing all the records rather than someones guess or copy.
i have found hours of hard work more accurate and def more giving in information that can rule off other lesser finds.
yes i guess i preffer to search real docs that i can say i found 2 instances of a mary ann ollerton marrying a stanley richardson over a given period and deciding that one is incorrect re area that the other is more likely and then finding hopefuly matches to that tree.

I'd love to know where you found 2, I can only see one !

I ignore all trees most are inacurate I have found. You need to work it out for yourself.
There are many helpful people on this site that spend hours like myself helping other people find what they are looking for or pointing them in the right direction

I'm a bit confused about what you said about freebmd this is the link

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

There is a bit at the top where you select births, marriages or deaths.
Then you add the surname followed by the first name ect then click find

Just play around with it to see what you can find unfortunatly the records only go up to the 1940s but its a start. Further back in this thread I gave instructions on how to find a spouse when you only have the one name
