Dave apparently came from the same area as young Ash Hall who we have been supporting after he was badly injured by an ied in July. Ironic that he was brought home on the same day as the launch of the Poppy Day Appeal in Colchester which Ash and other lads attended.

Here's a tribute site to David.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have commented on here.I have passed on you prayers and wishes to my grandaughter and her husband who will in turn pass them on to his family .It was a very emotional time for them when he was bought home via Wootton Bassett. We were all so sad and dissapointed that his home coming was not covered by either itv or bbc 1 on the 10pm news. So disrespectful.
again thank you all.

RIP Dave and thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
How awful that Daves homecomming was not covered by the BBC or ITV. These brave Men and Women should always be on the news and in our thoughts.

Please could you pass on our thoughts to the family of cpl Barnsdale from Ash and our family, we too noticed that his repatriation did not make the news on Thursday evening, i can assure you that we most certainly had some special thoughts for him and all the other lads that have paid the ultimate sacrifice whilst we were at the Royal British Legions Poppy appeal Launch.
Cpl Barnsdale served with the regiment that Ash worked with while he was in Afghanistan, Ash will lay a Royal Engineers wreath at the war memorial in Colchester on 14 November when we attend the Remembrance parade.

I am still adding the family to my quiet time, thinking and praying for the family experiencing so much pain at their loss.
We shall remember them.
This year my serving son will carrying his regiments flag in the parade on Remembence Day and I know that this will bring tears to my eyes, for we shall be thinking of those who have served and are no longer with us, served and suffered such dreadful injuries, and of course the previous generations where we have lost famiily members.
