There is a new shop that has opened were I live and they sell all these and more, it's like going back in time when you go in there, the first time I went in I spent half an hour talking to other customer's reminising about all the different sweet's and as we remembered them we found them on the shelves ( it was half an hour of heaven ) lol.
One of my favourite's was the Golden nugget's in a little bag that when you chewed them became chewy. ( you had to have about 10 nugget's to get a decent amount of chewy )

I remember the Imps, loved them and those cough lozenges, Victory V's. Sherbet lemons were another favourite, I think you can still get them.

Thanks! I've found a source in British Columbia ... about as far away from me, but at least in the same country. ;)

I think I'll just call up some fancy/import candy stores around me and ask!

I don't know if they have a trade name Janey. They're 68p for a 200g bag.

They can be found on this site (dont know if they ship over seas)

Do they have a proper/trade name? I would love to get some for my mum for Christmas -- seriously! Might be able to order by internet, you never know.

Otherwise, someone could just volunteer to mail me some ...

Aha, google offers me all kinds of options. I shall go drool.

Rhubarb and custard candy??

How have I lived without knowing about that? And now it's too late?

My favourite food in the world is my gramma's rhubarb and custard pie.

I think Brit and Canuck chocolate are about identical: sweet milk chocolate. We get all the Cadbury's here. (The long-time president of Cadbury's was a cousin of a good friend of mine!) Maybe Aussie choc is like US choc.

Violet Crumble? I've always wanted to try one of them. ;)

SueMaid,

we have Bounty over here, its been here for ever..just gets smaller with each passing year...!.

yep tell me about Ozzy chocolate tasting different....I'll soon be getting the delivery sent over,,and I aint got the heart to say I dont like it...

its just awful....}

Caramilk is probally = to our Dairy Milk or any milk chocolate., light.in colour.

JaneyCanuck Report 3 Nov 2010 21:20

Yes, Bounty, very similar, but again, not lumpy. ;) I'll have to ask my mum -- maybe Molly-Os had something besides coconut in them. Like maybe caramel ...

Those round silver and green peppermint patty ones, what were they? I'm assuming they've gone the way of the dodo too. I went through phases as a kid (still do): Caramilk, Jersey Milk, KitKat, Cherry Blossom, peppermint patties.

What's the Brit/Aus difference?

Canadian chocolate is sweeter than US chocolate. Although a few years ago their slightly bitter Hershey bar suddenly converted to the Canadian way of thinking, and is now a delightfully smooth and sweet milk chocolate. ;)
