Interesting thread I have sent off for some purple poppies and wrist bands from animal aid. I'm not a big animal fan - am allergic to most but do a lot of animal sponsorship and animal aid gave us the opportunity to make a donation also x

there is a beautiful book "the Warhorse" which is told through the eyes and perspective of the horse I think its Michael Morpergo who is the author its a sad book but well worth the read x

I've not heard of the Purple poppy . My Mum was a Quaker and she never wore a Red poppy ( Quakers being conscientious objectors ) but wore instead a White poppy , which was to symbolise remembrance for all civilians and animals that died in war conflicts , she used to lay a white poppy wreath at the local war memorial after everyone else had left .

Amanda2003, Some of the Bravest men in both world wars were Conciencious Objectors.They went into the front line rescuing wounded troops in all conditions.They just did,nt want to kill.**M**.

Yeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy my purple poppies and wristbands arrived today took 3 working days to arrived. They are very well made and look lovely. They do badges as well but had sold out. Animal Aid sent a lot of stuff for myself and girls to read through too x

cheers Julia I thought they would arrive too late usually my luck. My youngest is very affected by animal cruelty so is over the moon with her poppy x
