I hate not having the time in hours and minutes

I'm in Canada, but having UK time showing helps me realise that it is the middle of the night for you folks ............... so I know I won't get an answer until tomorrow. It's almost automatic for me to add or subtract 8 hours to find out what time it is over there vs here.

GR has always done this though ..... made lots of changes, most of which go wrong, and have to be corrected

Don't you think they would learn to

a) test out changes first
b) make sure they work
c) don't do 'em all at once!

I now automatically hit the computer's Back button (or fast back) to get back to the Community boards after every post that I make. Nuisance

I am also sick and tired fo the fact that they have apparently widened the Community Board listings AND the boxes on the threads

as a result, the threads all appear below the Community listings

I'm going to have muscles on muscles on my forefinger as I scroll down every bloomin' time I change thread or page!

I think it needs to be stated that nobody is complaining about change but rather that things have been changed not for the better. Why can't they leave it as the actual time of the last posting? Why should I have to work it out all the time? How is that productive? To say nothing about how people in other countries like to compare what time it is here to there.

Hi all~~

Borot~~~Bob

I've fiddled around and now have my name back:) Try it in my accounts:)

I don't like not seeing the time the last thread was posted, having the reply space at the bottom of the page and when you post your post goes down to the bottom !!! and having to click post date all the time !
Basically why the need to change it...?

Grizzle over, we'll get used to it :)

Sandie.

I dont like the new way of telling us when the thread was last posted on. The time was a lot easier than so many hours ago or Today or Yesterday. I can imagine it must be infuriating to have your name changed. Prefer the old thread set up too, not with the last posting under the tirle.

I used to be able to click on chat next to a thread title after i had rad it & it would take me back to an updated chat forum, not anymore the " chat " is greyed out, & pleeeeeeeese GR go back to number of replies to a thread NOT 2 hrs ago & so on.

You go off the screen for a few days and what happens. Perfectly able to tell the time, and I find that aspect particularly insulting to my intelligence. Without reading all the threads, I can see that most posters are like minded. Why the h**l do they have to change what was perfectly alright. To keep someone in a job, no doubt.

For heaven's sake, this is awful, the white glare of the page isn't easy on the eyes, and the changes are stupid, did people complain about any thing that they needed to start messing around with the site.

I am really fed up and not sure I can enjoy using the threads - have been coming on here less and less and this is so offputting I may appear even less now.

No it is not hard for me to tell the time here (on my computer in front of me) or over there for that matter. Just easier (being lazy) when the British time comes up we know they are either 11, 12 or whatever hours behind us etc. Now I guess we won't know as we are all working on hours and minutes. I do know of people older than me that are having difficulty with it, that is why I mentioned it.

NZ, SA and AU sites all operated with the British time before because as you say we all linked up to the same page.

I hope you get your boardname back Bob too. I saw it had gone fluffy and then later it was correct again on one of the threads.

I think I will make a coffee, that's not hard to do either. 2.50pm here.

well persey, maybe its time that each world time zone was specific to the site concerned??

we in the uk have ours and australia, new zealand and south africa have theirs?
after all we still get the same pages no matter which site we log into?

ooooops penfold great minds, and all that?

Penfold

Penfold Report 20 Nov 2010 01:14

I always assumed that with the different sites, uk., sa, nz etc. That the time shown on those sites, would have been for those locations. It cant be that hard to do surely?

Persephone

Persephone Report 20 Nov 2010 01:08

That's fine Maggie but we lot on the other side of the world have to know whether it is daylight saving or not and are the Brits behind us x amount of hours or not.

At present it is okay as we have all done our changing but later we will change at one time and you at another - so having the British time up helps immensely. A new person to the boards from down under could get confused. I know how to use my computer clock but it is a lot easier if the time is on the boards or am I being selfish?

And I am only talking about NZ and Australia, the Canadians will have another time etc etc.
