Vic just found 3 rucksacks at the bus stop whilst walking the dog. We looked inside and can't find any info as to who they belong to other than photo's on the camera and binoculars. Some rescue equipment, first aid etc and quite a few pairs of gloves.
So we phoned local police station and just waitying for them to arrive!!

Goodness, I wonder if the people got picked up in a car and each thought the other had loaded the rucsacs. Vic was brave opening them in the present climate though!

Police still not arrived, we had a call to say they were coming from Abergervenny. We also think that all indentification may have been stolen. Some of the pockets were unzipped, but then they would have taken the camera and binocs!!

Neariest mountain is the Skirrid l think, near Abergervenny!!

The police did say that a vunerable person is missing, but l don't think this is connected, but its getting intrigueing....!!

I live 10 miles from Abergavenny, and used to spend a lot of my summer hols there with my family.
There are about 6 mountains right around that area --
Blorenge, Sugar Loaf, Rholben, Skirrid, can't think of the other 2.
Haven't heard anything on the news regarding the incident.

Morning....police arrive about 8pm. Apparently the bags had been stolen from a mini bus and it would appear items stolen then the bags dumped at the bus stop. So l'm really pleased l persuaded vic to go back and pick the bags up:o)
Bags will be returned to owners:o)
l did'nt ask him about the vulnerable person missing, wish l had now, was hanging onto the dog!!!!!

jude:o)

Edit......SparklingAnnie....l knew there were more but could'nt think how to spell Blorange...lol...did'nt realise there are 8 though!! Did we meet in Aber a few years ago??

Hi Jude~~

Good of Vic to have done what he did, at least the peeps will get some of their belongings back.
As Rita says ,one has to be so careful these days approaching unattended packages.

I don't think we've met , meeting anyone from GR would be so great it would be imprinted in my memory for ever .lol
Shame we haven't :(
I live 8 miles west of Aber towards Merthyr.

My cousin goes walking on a Thurs, quite often around that area, but he hasn't heard anything either, they take their cars not a mini bus.

Sandie.

SparklingSandie....l met someone in Aber a few yrs ago, can't remember her name.l don't she lived in Aber.
We'll have to meet up sometime then, perhaps Jean (Monmouth) can join us:o))

Yes l spose Vic was brave, but l did sort of make him go back, l would never have forgiven myself if anything had happened to him!!!!!!

Yes Jude ,

That would be a lovely idea, a mini meet in Abergavenny, I don't have a car now so am reliant on public transport.
I believe Alyson lives in or near Merthyr (read it on the weather thread ) and there is an Ann who lives 7 miles from me near Ebbw Vale.
The more the merrier:)
Loads off lovely eateries in Aber.

Well done to Vic, I hope the thieves get their comeuppance !!

Sandie.

Thats a good idea , Jude, but can we wait until the weather is a little better! I think there is a weatherspoons in Aber, most other places either a bit expensive or rather small for a largish party. Dont get there as often as I used to.
You do see life up at Wyesham dont you!

Hi Jude,

I have a brother living near Abergavenny, and go to visit him and his family a couple of times a year. I was just wondering if when you have a mini meet, I could could join you all, please.

I live in Derbyshire, but born and bred in Rhymney, which is near the A465, Heads of the Valley road. It would be lovely to meet you all.

Love, Sallie.xx

I live near Ebbw Vale and can see the A465 from our house, I used to live in Clydach between Brynmawr and Abergavenny and were overlooking the H O V road, small world eh !
Hope we can arrange a meet, it would be great to see some GR peeps:)

Jude thank you, it will be lovely to meet you all.

It doesn't matter when we meet, as Alun and I can go anytime to visit my brother and sister-in-law. As long as we can leave it until the weather get's better, because of the travelling, then that's fine with me.

We live in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, it's between Nottingham and Derby---Ilkeston is a few miles off the M1, Jct. 25.

Sandie, I have a cousin living in Cwm, Ebbw Vale, his wife died from breast cancer, just over three years ago, she was such a lovely person, always kind and considerate towards everyone.

Jude and Jean, Alun my OH, had family living in Monmouth. His uncle had a butchers shop on Monow Street, but it's a good few years since it was sold. He died a while back, but his widow still lives there.

As some of you said, it's a small world. I know the meet won't be for a good while, but it will be something to look forward to, over the winter.

Love, Sallie.xx
