*touches wood firmly. OH has been driving for 50 years and I have been driving for 48 years. Neither of us have any points (or have ever had) or been fined or cautioned. However on OH's part it is not for want of trying, he is the one who does all the driving really except locally and he often exceeds 70 on the motorway. I have told him that it is only a matter ot time.

I have to say that he is a cautious and safe driver and doesn't go fast in bad conditions or make dangerous manouevres.

I had to have a quiet laugh to myself the other week.
The OH has always prided himself in being able to say to anyone (that listens), and the grandsons that, "I've been driving nearly 45 years, and still have a clen license".
Well, ha ha, not no more. He was caught for being a couple of miles over the limit, in an area I did not think it was possible to 'speed' in.
I do not know, which hurt him the most. The dent to his pride at having 3 points on his precious license, or the hole in his bank account when he paid the fine. Oooops.
Must stop laughing, but I have been forbidden to mention it in front of the grandsons. Ha,ha,ha.

I have to hold handies up and admit it - since not driving for over two years, I am worn out braking and am constantly saying 'OMG what does he/she think they are doing'? Whilst OH says 'don't worry about them, let them get on with it'.

Anyone else notice that everyone else on the road except your driver is stupid, an idiot, going too slow/too fast (your choice), braking too suddenly, not keeping up with the traffic etc etc etc.??

Hi Julia,

My hubby is exactly the same in whatever car park we park , mind you he would rather park outside the car park on the nearest road !!

Funny though ...if he does park way away with no one near him and we go shopping , on our return finding that SOMEONE has parked next to him ,he has the cheek to say ....now why do they of all the space have to park next to MY car ...!!!! and so it goes on ..... Sad aint it .
He said its all to do with looking after all his toys when he was a young lad , never had much but looked after what he had...and cant stop !!

Just a bit of TIN I tell him....... LOL

Julia don't forget that Goose is full of FAT ......!!

Oh Julia - OH drives me mad parking. Will find the space furthest away from where we wish to be and THEN he will reverse in and out until I swear if I went around the car with a ruler it would be parked with exactly the same number of inches from the line, back and front and side to side.

When I was driving - I drove straight in - easier to put shopping in the back.
Enjoy the goose!!!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Dec 2010 14:43

Julia, faced with a near empty car park my OH has a problem knowing where to park Lol!!! Have you noticed though that if you park in an empty patch in the car park, when you come back there will always be somebody who has parked next to you, with us usually right up close so OH has to pull the car out before I can get in, having a two door car the door is very wide and we need extra space to open it.
