Oh poor lad.
Missing a disco at that age is so important too.
How has he been lately then?
I think of him often and wonder if he is getting along well.Must be a big 'lado' now. X

My friends little ones are in the throws of the flu too.... a 2 1/2 & a 4 month old.
No sleep in thier house.
I remember the times VERY well... sleepless nights.....
Still, would we EVER have swapped them?
Never............... X
I hope they are well enough for Christmas, or we wont see them.
Allan and I are both so easily 'knocked out'.
He has had his flu jab, but I cannot have it.

Good night Dawn,

well confirmed on telephone to be flu will last 6 - 10 days oh yipee .

Got to get him eating and is allowed whatever he fancies and we have kept him off milk because he wa sick but is allowed that and he loves it so has managed a small cup and ate half a weetabix but at least its progress.

If he starts having trouble breathing have to take him straight to casualty.

Ann they arent testing routinely now for swine flu just saying is all flu.

Deanna
he is gonna miss his dinner and disco with his special group tomorrow night so hoping will be ok for christmas and Zo is up and down but a lot better than Nath

I've been trying to not cross-contaminate by not making anyone at work a cup of tea/coffee. Aren't I good??!!!

I had a cold which has really only just gone, it hung around for nearly three weeks and I kept losing my voice, I woke myself up coughing till I tried the Vick on the soles of the feet trick and it worked, the cough eased a lot, I even put it on during the day as I wear socks not tights.
I think my illness might have been a mild version of flu cos I had a flu jab in November.

Dawnie, hope your two are lots better soon, flat lemonade is good for folk who are constantly vomiting. Coke is ok but too much caffeine in it, and with no food it could make Laddo feel a bit hyper.

Take care folks, wash your hands often to keep the bugs at bay, especially when you have been out shopping and handled money or touched lots of door handles etc

Jean (Monmouth) Report 19 Dec 2010 19:22

Dawnie, when patients had a temp in the old days before antibiotics, we gave them a blanket bath with tepid water to help bring it down and make them feel more comfortable. Hope you have plenty of icecream in!

There are apparently 3 strains circulating Dawnie all three were provided for in the latest flu jab so hopefully you will be OK.

Swine flu and norivirus around dawnie. With Norovirus theya sk you to keep them away from people for 48 hours after they are better. But the cough as well sounds more like flu. Lots of drinks and keep warm and hope that you don't get it.

At least he is keeping water down which will stop him being dehydrated.
