Does anyone else get fed up with trying to access their incoming messages from these boards? I find it is OK if I access them from an e mail alert but those come in much later than the white envelope. If I try to access from the white envelope I often find the only way to do it is to click on sent messages which seems to open easily and then to keep clicking the in box (which usually goes a couple of times to 'error') until I can get in.

Yes I am fed up of it Ann, I get a white page with 'they are doing some work on the message page' or 'there is a fault on the message page' I always click on refresh page and it comes up. It is getting a bit wearing though having to do it every time.

it IS a devious route at times..it might be nice if a series of connected messages could be read "sent and reply" open plan as it were, instead of jumping fro one t' other!

It looks like the problem is still there - it has been around for several days now. I go to Contacts than access from there.

Has anyone reported it as a possible fault?

I have had a problem going to My thread participation and recently contacted gr, seems I am not the only person having trouble. I got the following reply. I had also mentioned other things I disliked after the recent changes. I had also said I didn't like the timing notification on posts, eg, yesterday etc so you couldn't tell when someone had been around, just after you or some time after :

Our technical team are aware of the specific problem that you reported and we will be implementing a solution as soon as is possible. Your patience while we work to resolve this is much appreciated.

I am sorry that you are not happy with the recent changes that we have made to the Genes Reunited website.

We have reacted to feedback from our members to make these latest developments but inevitably, some of the changes suit certain member use more than others.

We are currently receiving a lot of feedback and suggestions from our members so I will not reply to your points in detail but please accept my assurance that your email will be individually read by our Management team and will be taken into consideration as we work to continually enhance the website over the coming weeks and months.

This is what they have said on their FB page

Does anyone in your contact list have a symbol such as a star in their user name? This can sometimes be the cause of the problem. We realise this is a fault at our end and are endeavouring to fix the problem.

All those of you experiencing problems with your inbox, please can you send an email to theteam@genesreunited with the email subject 'Inbox Problems' and be sure to include the email address you use to log in to your GR account. This way we can take a look at the back end of your account to identify the problem. I hope to remedy this for you as soon as possible.

You are not going to believe this. I had the white envelope for a message clicked on the in box and it opened straight away. hasn't done that for ages.

Yes it is working. You didn't have to wait for a new message, just clicking on 'Inbox' caused it to error. But as stated, appears to have been fixed.

Again, been using it all morning with no problems.
