Hi Puss,

Me and OH have also booked a cruise to the Med in May,its the first holiday we have had on our own for 20 years.

My in laws are staying with the Children while we go away.

It will beat the Caravan!

Who are you sailing with?
A work friend cruised to the fjords and the photos were beautiful.

Cruise ships are lovely, you will have a great time.We took the children a couple of years ago.
You get looked after so well and there are all ages from babies to people in their 80s and older.

We are going on the Ventura!!!!

It is a P and O ship.

Its onre of their newer Ships, we went on the Aurora before.

You will have a brilliant time, the food is wonderful and the entertainment is so good, thre is always somthing to do, as well as the trips on land.

Dont worry about the choppy sea, take some seasick pills, your GP will be able to prescribe them for you or you can buy them over the counter before you go.
There is always a Doctor and qualified Nurse and team on board who are very good if you are sea sick or anything else.
The medical team on the ships always have experiance in all areas of medicine, I know because I had to see them when I tore a knee ligament on the second from last day of our last cruise!
I asked where they had worked, my Daughter is keen to work on the cruise Ships once she has her degree, so I was gathering info for her:)

I hope you have a lovely time in Ireland Catherine.
We went a few years ago in our Caravan and found the house where my Dad lived as a Boy and the Church where he was an Alter boy in the 1920s and eary 1930s.

Thanks Catherine,
My Dad lived in Port Arlington as a boy in the South,

He was orphand at the age of 12, and came to England just before WW2 when he signed up and ended up posted to the Far East.
Sadly there is no Family left that I know of in Ireland but it was lovely to see his house and the place he grew up in.

Our August Hols are to the new Forrest for a week in the Caravan with our 12 year old.
I have never been but it is said to be a lovely part of the country.

Teresa you will love the New Forest if you like the countryside, if not you'll hate it !
Loads of good walking for all levels to do, take your bikes if you can or hire them there.
Great country pubs for meals.
Seaside not far away from most of it.
Where about in the forest are you going to and what do you liek to do/see ?
They have a good web site.

Gosh, all these cruises!! I'm quite envious! LOL
Hi Teresa - as a regular New Forest 'tramper' - don't feed the ponies!!!
Oh - and those mounds of earth that are just the right size to sit on are full of biting wood ants!
As Caroline asks - which part are you going to?
Not sure if I'll get a holiday this year - 2 days have been wasted waiting for the gas man.
Usually spend a long weekend in May camping in Somerset helping my brother renovate his old 'Smithy' - apparently I'm becoming quite an expert at lime mortaring (and bro would have got others in to examine it!!)
I also spend a week somewhere or other with the extended family (at least 14 of us) So far it's been Tuscany (rained) Cornwall (rained) Wiltshire in various tents(rained, but we could leave a day early) - you get the drift LOL
Will probably be camping in England again this year so we can leave when the rain gets too depressing/ we have no dry clothes.

Cornwall was quite good - got my nephew 'into' genealogy.
We found the grave of my ggg grandmother - and a son (that'll be a gg uncle) I didn't know existed!!
..and my grandson - then aged 18 months found a love of horses!!

Hi Caroline and Maggie,
We have a touring Caravan so spend most holidays by the sae or in the Countryside.

We are staying at a caravan club site in Brangore, 7 miles from Lyndshurst.
I am looking foward to it.
