I have not watched the clip but,as we have recourse to carers three times every day,I would like to point out the absence of films about the extra bits and pieces that most carers will do every day.

I know many people take them for granted but they still turn up,for pretty low wages, and do the bits I was dreading having to take on myself. As we were deliberating over who should get the old man out of bed when it snowed and there was no traffic going by, they turned up.

Just like every other walk of life, there are some bad and abusive ones, but I would like to thank the others from the bottom of my heart. Like Maggie's friend,I know I couldn't do it.

The way the woman was so blatantly eating the meal in front of the poor patient/client was so wicked. Imagine how the family felt when they watched the video having wondered why their poor Mum was losing so much weight when they thought she was eating the food provided. I would imagine they left homecooked things or the lady had the frozen meals that are available. I have to say that when I looked after an elderly lady who was often still eating her self heated meals from one of the companies providing meals for the elderly etc, when I turned up, my mouth would water as they smelled lovely especially the desserts.

I wonder what sentence the carer will get?

Sorry Sharron, missed your post when I posted my last post.
I know there are good carers and a lot of people would be up the creek without a paddle, without them, but this clip was what let the family know how badly their Mum was being treated, so the woman deserves punishment. Stealing/withholding food and causing the woman to starve is a terrible thing to do when the poor woman couldn't speak out.

I am glad you have good reliable carers to help keep your Dad going. As you say, the good ones deserve a pat on the back and a better wage too.
