I have my 13 yr old granddaughter with me at the moment she has a temperature 0f 102 and is complaining of feeling dizzy and has no energy shes also complains of feeling cold. Is this the symptoms of swine flu. I have given her paracetamol and a cold compress.

Sylvia, sounds like flu but which type? You have already been given good advice. Pusscat - the little one is in the right place, it is a nasty flu and thoughts with her. Son (who is of more mature years) went down like a log on 20 Dec had nearly 3 weeks in bed and is only beginning to pick up now.

My 9 month old grandson was in hospital with swine flu a couple of weeks ago. He was taken in after he'd had 2 febrile convulsions, caused by a sudden rise in temperature. He was immediately put on Tamiflu for a few days. He has slowly improved since. However, now he has a chest infection and is on antib's, poor little chap. Not suffering too badly with it though and still smiling his sweet smile, I'm glad to say. x

Wishing your niece a speedy recovery x

One word of warning, never try to bring down a temp with cold water, it can send it higher.... always use lukewarm, or tepid water, and let it dry naturally on the skin

Hope she is soon lots better. At 1 she hardly knows what a birthday is so celebrating later won't matter to her, and it will be a good celebration to know she is well again.
