Has anyone else ever noticed how genealogy seems to be a little oasis of politeness, helpfulness and mutual support and absence of rivalry and one upmanship? Maybe its because of a fundamental equality - we all have exactly 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 G grandparents etc..

Of course there is an element of genealogy characterised by those seeking to establish some link to nobility, but I have never come across such folks on GR.

Anyhow just a quick note to say thank you to you all.

And 16 gt gt grandparents, but I have only 30 gt gt gt grandparents! And no, it isnt because of an illegitimacy.
