Went looking for a new pair of boots today (my ones that are only just over a year old are kn***ered...leaking and scruffy...baulked at paying £56 for the one pair that i actually liked though.

Made a note of the make...went home and put it into Ebay...just bought a pair brand new for £25!!

It's the same with my Clarins stuff... £40 in the shops £10 online !!!!!!!

Has anyone else stopped physically going to the shops to BUY anything like I have?...I just find what I want and go online and buy for more than half price...it seems crazy not to !!! x

Me too, Muffy - I now buy all my favourite cosmetics online, much cheaper and it's usually delivered within 2 or 3 days. Brilliant that you got the boots you wanted on Ebay at such a good price! x

I looked at an item in Argos.

Found the same item being sold by the manufacturer online and even allowing for the postage saved nearly £15

Just can't understand why I haven't always done it this way ..but I guess you live and learn ! x

I brought a new range online last november, saved 75 squids and was promised delivery for early december - bargain!
Except some thieving toerag nicked it off the lorry between the factory and my door.
Now I'm told it should be here next week. If I'd got it from the local farm and country store i could have had it the week I ordered it.

I bought boots this afternoon, black ankle ones, £15 in the sale in New Look.

I agree that often a lot of things are cheaper online but then they don't have the same overheads as shops do. The advantage of the shops for items such as clothing and footwear is that you can try it on first. I tried on two pairs of boots today, both slightly different styles, and found one pair fitted better than the other.

I can understand why it's more expensive in the shops...totally understand that they have overheads internet retailers don't have.

I'd never buy a pair of boots *blind* though as I have a high instep and have to have a wider fitting as a result....so shops are handy for me to try before I buy !!!

Hope your range is worth the wait Eddiesagrandad !!..I've been dead lucky so far..have got the majority of stuff I've ordered within the week x

Muffyxx Report 8 Feb 2011 20:34

Blimey Mummo that IS a bargain !!!

They're ankle boots..to wear with my straight legged jeans.ChAoTic lol....sort of like a cross between bikers boots and cowboy boots (I know that sounds weird but they're not as bad as they sound lOLOLOL) I'm a typical tomboy who can't walk in proper heels so very few boot syles work for me x

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 8 Feb 2011 20:55

I used to wear something very similar in the 80s lolololol x

...Well Mummo you'd have to use up a lot of your time to cover the price difference so I'd say that was bargain of the century !! x

Not quite the same but still important our Vet told me to buy the cats Frontline spot on flea treatment online as it would be cheaper than getting it from the surgery .She isnt the owner !! anyway I save near enough £10 for each 6 ampoule pack. When we had two cats it was a big saving .
