Does anyone on here do jigsaws?

Just talking to friend whose late OH did, then glued and framed them...she has offered me some he never got to
do :( , but though I used to do them a lot haven't got time or really the inclination to do so now...just wondering if many people have it as a hobby these days?

xx

Hi Chris, I'd bought friend's OH two nice ones for Christmas but sadly he died before then, so may give them to the charity shop this week.

I had a 3D one passed on to me once Stray, it was the White House I think, lol I didn't have the patience for that. I sent one of those Ben10 globes to a friend's child at Christmas...they are probably still cursing me then lol.

*waves hand*

I still do them although not as often as I used too because of space.
Not long finished a 3D of Camalot Castle now that was fun.

Often do Wasjigs and have a 3 section jigsaw I haven't done as I will back that and frame it when I do it.

try www.jigsawonline.net - 3 new ones every day, from easy to hard, not too long (splendid alternative to solitaire when you are putting off doing the ironing or whatever). And links to other jigsaw web pages as well

I love jigsaws, but haven't done one for ages.
I think one of the hardest I ever did was of a soldiers' parade outside Buckingham Palace, - so many uniforms the same, with only a slight difference in focus to help place them.

We have one on the go at our static caravan and if we're only on a quick visit, it gets tucked away in it's Porta-Puzzle, ....so handy.

They are a really good pre-reading skill for children. Matching shapes and colours gets them used to looking closely at things.

evening peeps. yes i still do jigsaws usually 1000 pieces and up as anything else is too easy.

however last year i was given a simpsons double sided 1000 piece and it is the most difficult puzzle i have ever done and itsunder the bed on a big board. only place to put it without being disturbed.

havent looked at it for a while though!

since i have the computer, i play online games like scrabble and backgammon which i am quite addicted to and what with my fam tree and also chatting on the threads, i dont have much time for anyting else lol.

oh i do a bit of housework when time permits!!!

florence.

at least we have electric, last weekend due the storm , we were without for 17 hours, i had comp withdrawel symptons lol

I love those jigsaws of chocolate box cottages ....................... as long as someone else has already put the pieces together.

Used to love them Rose. Have a stack of them in the attic. Have a large dining room table so used to go for the 2,000 piece pics.

Unfortunately, the laptop took over! lol

I used to do them as a kid, 500/1000 piece ones with my nan's help :-). Then a few years ago I started doing them again, until I started my degree then I stopped again. At the moment I have about 4 on top of a bookcase, waiting until I've finished my degree in May, when I hope to start doing them again.

Yes. Charity shops are good sources :-)
I do buy them new, too, and I was given one called Christmas Joys for Christmas.

I got a meerkat one for christmas with a whole family of meerkats in the desert. How cute I thought until I tipped out the pieces. Meerkats & desert all the same colour. Aagh it's a nightmare. Flamin' meerkats!
