My husband is a terrible horder, he just keeps on buying thigs and if anyone is giving stuff away he has to have it. He has a 3 car garage full, not of cars but anything and everything. We have 2 cars and an 8 seater. Each one is full to the hilt with stuff. he has a brick built workshop that is full so full you cannot walk into it. Indoors he has all the top floor we have 3 stories, stuffed to the rafters and the large celler is the same. In our sitting room he has created a no go area around his chair with so much junk and he will not let me touch it, I have to wait to clean until he moves it just enough for me to hoover and dust. |

We have a large walled garden and I have told him if he dies before me I am going to get a J.C.B. in to dig a big hole( ooh er I forgot the caravan and that's full of junk too). In the hole will go 1 caravan, 2 skips from house, 3 ruddy cars, 4 tons from workshop, 5 tons from garage and my dear husband dead bodee. ( to the tune of The 12 days of Christmas).Elaine. |

Elaine i am sure we would love him but seeing he will only get 1 room he might have to share his junk with the rest of the residents as the last gent did lol Cant wait to get the carpark cleared. Will not do it until he has moved out as i think we may have a few more bits yet lol |

Elaine, and others, have you ever looked at the definition of compulsive hoarding? This really is an illness and often connected to ocd. |

Sorry about leaving you all last night but dogs needed out and I was cream crackered.Let me know when his demise is imminent Annina and I'll send it round. Guess what, he went to look at another car today a morris minor. I said to him 'where are you going to put it' and he replied 'in the back of the Toyota 8 seater'. And I wouldn't put it past him either. Sorry Purple, but you have not got the attitude he has, he won't buy food unless it's outdated or going out, He'll buy two sliced loaves which I cannot eat because they are stale to begin with and anyway 1 is enough to last me a week. I made a gianormous bread and butter pud with the last and keep putting the remains in front of him. Hey as I went out to work today there were 2 scrapmen in front of the garage and they asked if I wanted to get rid of any scrap. I dared not let them but my retort was yes if you'll take my oh as well, did it make them laugh. Elaine. |

Thank goodness there's someone else to join me in my suffering. I love a bargain and generally clothe myself from charity shops BUT there is a happy medium. On my window ledge are 2 quarter eaten loaves, because they were stale when I got them. Why buy to throw away? it does not make sense to me. I must admit to some hording myself, we all have a tendancy to do it. I do hope I havn't upset poor old Purple, I did not think when i wrote it and she is such a lovely caring person, wish my oh was, then I may forgive him but to keep us short of food and to buy cars when he's always pleading poverty, just got to me. Elaine. |

Don't worry Purple' I am working all ends up and I have been washing the walls and ceilings in the dinning room and kitchen between working. I am absolutely exhausted and only come up to the puter for an hour or so or until my eyes give up or the dogs want walkies. Thats where I am off now and then to bed. keep on pegging and sorry about the old, we are as young as we feel and I can still outwork the youngsters at school, mind you some are in their 50s and that can be a bad time hormones and such. Elaine. |
