Hello my lovely friend O))

I agree with Kay, being able to speak about it is one step forward ... I know because it took me a long while to be able to do it. So hope today is a better day, always here for you

I found this poem by Mary Oliver very inspiring, as others have said, you only have one life:

The Journey

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.

I beat myself up daily about things I have done and wish to god i hadn't and about roads I followed when i was much younger that led to places i should never have visited..........god i wish we could start old and work backwards !!! lol.

Know just how you feel..BUT. I found turning 40 a HUGE turning point for me ...I looked around at what I had and culled all the c**p that had blighted my life for so long and cut out all the hangers on and grabbers who I no longer wanted or needed or who bought me down. It didn't happen over night but I feel I'm almost free of the things that used to cause me grief.

Tis SO hard to change things when you're a mother as your kids come first...I totally understand that...maybe try bite sized changes to begin with ?

Good luck hon. I wish you all the best x

Loved the verse.

There's a saying (American of course lol) :

A yard is hard but an inch is a cinch

and it's true, a small step at a time can be less daunting than a giant leap!

Good luck

Mrs Gene Hunt
It's ok you now have your back bone. It's never too late to do what you wish to do, I did. Life is short so be happy, I am.
Good luck

Well as Robin has suggested, I will update you. I feel better for letting off steam. I have absorbed myself, and endulged myself in what I always wanted to have a go at doing. Its nothing special(except to me) nore is it very exciting.

I know that people have advised that I seek counselling. I have been before, had 12 years worth of "rubbish, unsaid things" and off loaded it. But this time I thought I would just dump it "out there". So it wouldn't build up.

I do hope that you are all ok. I am. Thank you again, for all being there for me and each other xxxxxxxxxxx

Did you really expect anything different Gwen, knowing the way he has been over the last few years?

I guess there are good things to remember and your family came from the marriage......
Will be thinking about you
