We all have friends, but some you just seem to bond with from day 1. These friends are the ones that know everything about you and don't judge you for it, they are just as likely to be sat with you in that police cell saying "boy we had a good time" . They are there for you as you are them no matter what distance those late night phone calls have to cover.
You know that if you don't speak to them for weeks that they are still there routing for you, caring for you and being your friend. As you are for them.
My friend Kev was one of those. From the very 1st day we met over a bar we laughed with each other and at each other. When our personal relationships changed we applauded each other and lent a hand. K to me more than the other way round.
Even though I moved to Spain those late night phone calls continued. Nothing could spoil that friendship.

Last year my friend was diagnosed with cancer but still we joked on. This time with promises that we will meet up this year when his dreaded chemo was finished.

Sadly yesterday just 3 mths into his 50th year K lost his fight.

There will be no more late night phone calls, but he will always be my friend.

My friend,my buddy, my partner in crime, one of the nicest, most genuine of people that I have ever met
I always loved you and will miss you forever.

Thanks everybody, I didn't really need any replies (didn't I ?) just airing my Goodbye and I know no better place than here because here there are people who say sorry and give that hug even when the grief isn't theirs. ..
They let you ramble on about how that friend was and help in anyway they can.
Although friends here aren't the same as "that true friend" by gum you lot are friends that I would be lost without.

I am slowly trying to put together an eulogy for Kev as it is doubtful I will make the funeral ..there is so much to say ...so much I want to say.

But whilst I do that can I thank all of you for being here in my little box with me when I need.

I really feel for you. We all have to make that journey but some sooner than others and that seems so unfair.

Thankyou

It's hard to explain in an eulogy ..because of his partner, who is also a friend of mine (I introduced them) ..what he meant to me. We couldn't have been closer without him being a brother or lover , actually I think we were closer than either because we loved each other, that total unconditional love.
We were friends the rare in a lifetime friends.

Sod I need to prep dinner or I am going to wail my heart out.

My heart goes out to you - I had a friend like that Linda - six years now and I still miss her but then I think I was lucky to know her as you have been with Kev. Bless and take care.

Chris I am sorry for your loss so long ago? I have been lucky to know him and I am going to miss him like hell ..it's rare a female has a male friend like he was.
He applauded my choice of hubby and berated me when needed oh f*ck it's so hard to explain.
I'm going to miss him

Ann I know that many of you understand lol I wouldn't have dared come on here otherwise.
I have spent all day laughing and crying on line with his daughter I guess she understood me and her dad more than his partner did. Or did I have more time for her who knows. I did know his daughter for longer an we always got on well.

He's going to be a hard act to follow.

Thankyou everybody.

If I was to talk about him I have already wasted days saying nothing when I should have being saying I love you.

At a quick sense all can say is kev was a friend like no other, if you find a frend like this hold on to them, they are beautiful
