Hi Deanna. Think Rose could be right. Just done a bit of googling on this and there were Underground Managers in the coal pits it would seem. Think this is far more likely than Mausger. Googling Coal Mine Occupations gives a lot of job descriptions of coal mine workers. |

It sounds like an Ancestry mis-transcription - they are notorious for this, as I believe a lot of the transcriptions were made by people unfamiliar with the records. |
