A work colleague has told me about something called hidemyass.com or something like that. you have to open 2 pages so u change your settings on one. Havent tried it yet though. It allows viewing from anywhere apparently.

It was a lovely reunion for both lads on this week's show, and how well both young men turned out despite their difficult beginnings in life. All credit to the adoptive parents of the lad now in US and to that young soldier's stepdad too.
I hope they will be very happy with their new family members now.

Another brilliant episode..

I cried buckets again.

To see the relief on Waynes face once he knew his father had been found...... he`d loooked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders......and in a matter of moments that all melted away......


Thought the strain showed on Debbies face as well.........she looked so haunted by it all,.......... lets hope both these families can build a relationship and move forward.


Absolutley wonderful to watch....well done ITV...

My son lives in London - I live in the US - and says he can't find the program on the TV in his rental flat - yes, he really says that. Can you give me a hint what to tell him so that he can find it?? Thanks. I really Must See this program!!!

Janey in Canada mentioned being able to view a recent programme mentioned on these boards.
No idea how though.
Perhaps a thread asking for know-how will bring an answer.

I haven't seen the programme yet. I recorded it then the player 'froze' and has to go for repair. Incase I can't retrieve the recording, I will watch on catch-up tomorrow.

Mark n Ali I think you can record it but it has to be done in certain way for diffrent countries have you tried to google and see if that helps you with how to do it or maybe it could be on line where you they could watch it on pc

Really love it, needed plenty of tissues, one of the best programmes on for a while.

I read Nicky Campbells book and he was very frank about his adoption and birth mother, so I thought it appropriate he presented this programme. Looking forward to the rest of the programmes.

We watched and cried! But how can i let overseas relatives see it?

Jillian, I have read your story on the other thread, I would have added but am not feeling great myself at the mo so not adding to many threads. I can quite understand how demoralized you must have felt with your parents constantly being abusive to you, so much so that you did almost walk away from everything, but having watched the programme again on several evenings (it's on at 2.40 am ) I can only imagine the heartache and worry the Mums' disappearances causes their family. Well done for having the strength to stay with your family and o.h. On the latest programme it sounds as tho foul play might be the cause of one Mum never being found, and that must be awful. In most cases there is no way to know how to grieve by the children (now young adults in most cases) but the forever waiting game must be so heartbreaking and stressful

I thought it was really good and not cringingly sort of in-your-face soppy as I'm sure it could have been. For me it was given more value by Nicky Campbell's co-presenting. His story on WDYTYA is one of my favourites too.

Liz, you said that you didn't know how someone could just walk away, even from a child. Sometimes it's seen as the only solution. I've talked on another thread about the abusive upbringing I had and how my parents continued to be abusive until their deaths. When my lovely Alison was still a baby, I doubted that I could take much more of the constant critisism from the people I am force to call my parents. Non-stop telephone calls about my failure and incompetence as a homemaker and mother. The constant nagging that Alison should be with them as I was unfit to raise their grandchild. Well it was never ending. And one day in the space of a heartbeat I nearly gave in. I decided that I was as bad as they made out and the only answer was to hand her over and just go. In the next heartbeat I couldn't do that to my lovely husband who the parents barely acknowledged as existing except to critisise and I could not have my lovely Alison raised like I had been.

It's so hard to explain just how low you can get that you consider 'disappearing'. Some I guess do it for selfish reasons but some because it's the only way they can see as doing the best that they can for their family because they believe that their loved-ones lives will be better off without them. Even now I still struggle every so often to believe that mine wouldn't be better off without me. I really do know it wouldn't be the case but I grew up not being wanted and being told everyone would be better off without me being around.

I'm not saying that it's the right thing to do and awful for the family left behind but not all people who disappear are doing it because they really want to.

I knew I would cry it brought it all back when my dad was reunited with his sister we were all crying at that too

What a wonderful programme...I cried my eyes out...

Think Nicky Campbell is a really good choice of presenter as he was adopted himself....his WDYTYA is one of my favourites.
