Help with what is written on a birth certificate

Under mothers name it says the number 7 in brackets after the first two christian names, then another christian name then surname. |

I would think it refers to a mistake or a change of some sort?? Is there any way you can visit the local registry office and ask for advice? Or the local archives centre maybe. |

Jan is correct. The number just refers to a mistake on the certificate (the number 7 refers to the seventh the registrar has recorded either that day or in a particular period of time). The registrar has a book in which he records the mistakes and they are numbered as per the certificate. |

Thanks that has answered the question as it appears the middle christian names have been mixed up as the inittials are BAM but the informant was B M so guess that is the error. |
